I have specifically avoiding learning the entirety of the Irredeemable story in case there was something I wasn't to surprise me. But I thought the point of the story was to show how the world's greatest hero could fall so far from grace as to become the world's greatest villain.

Did that not pay off? I haven't bought the trade yet but have it on my list...unless you convince me otherwise.  Wink

Currently I'm in the opposite boat Irredeemable is in my "eh" pile. I may get around to it someday but unless I'm convinced otherwise I currently don't have a real interest in it. I am interested in picking up at trade at my LCS (first time I've ever used that tag) tomorrow. I have to pick up one that didn't make it on my Christmas list yet I still have an interests in and it has to be in stock. Wish me luck because that will be no small task in it self. Thankfully I have another day of reading thought #1 issue's and previews between downtime at work and already have a few in mind that I would like to pick up.

Abyss from Red 5 looked like a fun little 4 issues story. I really enjoyed the way the first issue played out.
Amber Atoms was ok but the Art and story failed to really grab me in the first issue.
Borderlands Origins I liked it the art was a lot like the video game and it was cool to see who Roland (soldier) was before Pandora.
Teen Titans was really weird but then again I'm not use to the GD Batman from comics so maybe that's why the whole thing just felt really odd.
Wanted has a nice set up. It's cool to read this after seeing the movie because I can see how the movie was adapted or things they took from the comic and things they left out.

Sadly that's about it for right now. Again these are based on me only reading the #1 issue of each series so I don't know anything past that unless it's been in the first 200 podcasts of the MSP and even if it has chances are I've forgotten what it was.

Ok I did it I picked up my frist 2 trades today. I really had to fight the urge to get Atomic Robo because I already asked for it for Christmas. I ended up settling on Wanted the complete collection and Irredeemable Vol. 1.

Irredeemable makes much more sense when you actually get a chance to read a full issues verses a 6 page preview. I'm actually looking forward to reading the rest of it but I also got borderlands 2 today so my attention span is shorter than usual. I'll post my own personal review here once I finish them. I plan to get a TPB once every other week for as long as I can afford it.

I'm glad you gave Irredeemable more of a chance. Like many comics or television shows, it can be difficult to gain a good opinion of it based on a small sampling.

Holy crap am I glad I picked up irredeamable. I really enjoyed the first 4 chapters that are collected in vol 1 of the TPB. It makes me a little sad that I won't be able to pick up another volume till this weekend since I finished the whole book within a few hours reading it on and off at work. I like the take on the book. The idea of a super hero who just can't take it anymore and has a psychotic break is facanitaing. I'm really interested in seeing where they go from here. Navarre this book has my seal of approval if you're still looking for a reason to pick it up. However gaumer rated the first volume ok also so we shall see what volume 2 has to offer.

I'm going to pick up another TPB from my LCS today. Irredeemable Vol 2 and something else that I haven't quite decided yet. Which left me to think that maybe just maybe someone out there has a recommendation for a book to pick up. I'm sure I'll find something but I like the input from everyone else and the suggestions I always take into consideration.

Kick ass is on my list but I've recently heard the review of the TPB on the MSP so I'm waiting to pick up that title until a little later so the memory isn't so fresh. I really need to rename the tread. I seem to like more than just Super Hero books (Atomic Robo is fantastic) but for now I want to stay with books that are self contained and don't require having read a years worth of comics going into the series.
