Episode 9: The Battle
Plot: A meeting with a Ferengi (who seem to have been stepped down a notch in terms of campness) turns for the worse when they turn up with Picards old ship in tow. This ship is particularly prised because it was the first star-fleet ship to encounter and destory a Ferengi space Croissant. Picard also appers to have a case of Rodrigoitus (or splitting migrain as it's otherwise known). This is not a natural headache and is in fact is a Ferengi device used to control Picard in an effort to destroy him. Picard ends up on board his old ship attempting to use the "Picard Manouver" on the enterprise and is then brought to his senses at the last possible second. The vengful Ferengi are sent packing and the Enterprise tows Picard's ship home.
Thoughts: I really liked it. The story was a solid Sci-Fi adventure each charecter fufilled thier roles excellently Patrick nailed his performance. The down sides, up pop's "Ensign omgyoursoannoying Crusher" being all smart ass and I don't think that's a Fault of Wil's at all but rather poor charecter writing. And actually Mr Crusher is the subject of a new section:
Quote of the Episode: "Your Welcome Ladies, Phew, Adults."
Also the fact that the charecters seemed to puzzle over things that were obvious to the audience such as how to defeat a Picard Manouver didn't work in it's favour. Overall a solid episode.
Rating: 4 Picard Manouvers.
I am aware that this was supposed to be justice but lets just say one punishment zone and leave it at that.

I've never liked allies, the deck is just too linear and preditable. It can be powerful with the green druid form worldwake.

Indeed, his value has taken somewhat of a hit because of his reprinting but he's definatly somthing traded highly for. Like Koth for example. Not at his best now but he will always be good which is why I'm ammasing a play set of both Koth and Gideon.

Yes, his natural enemy is the instant speed spot removal so I would recommend a deck that could defend him well enough to be able to beat your oppoents face in. I have my Rise of the Eldrazi copy here and I'm not letting it go for a long time. Gideon is a master.
