...Or so io9.com believes...

Some I completely agree with (OMD/BND, Prime Punch), but some got me thinking  "Didn't that work out for the best?".

What do you think?

The Reality Punch is an epic fail.

The Identity Crisis story is an epic win no matter how you look at it.

I think the criticism was directed more at how rape is used to give a female character deeper, edgier and all round more interesting.  They never really criticize Identity Crisis; they just say it made DCU a darker place which it did.

How did the Spider Clone Saga not make it.

Being a Legion Fan I have to say anything to do with eliminating Superboy Tom Welling from continuity due to legal reasons.
That includes of course the 5yg Legion (some great stories, but a lot of work) and anything to do with Valor (He started in L.E.G.I.O.N. and then became smaller and dumber when he began his own title) but all of that was due to the fact that the role of Tom Welling was necessary for the Legion to exist.
Headache that even the Mighty Matthew's Hero Histories can not completely relieve.

It did make the DCU a darker place but I think it brought a level of writing maturity that was much needed. I see the success of it in terms of what it did for the League member's characters.

The rape itself is a difficult thing, no doubt. But I think the end result opened up a lot of writing options that would have otherwise gone untapped.
