not bad, although it reminded me of a handful of previous episodes in which the Doctor tries to save a progressively smaller crew from not-zombies.

it was a good episode, but still a pretty general one that could fit in any season. i expected more from those 'specials'. the ending was getting a bit more 'out there' i think, which was good. can't wait for the christmas special.

Good, not great, the Doctor seems to be getting more self-righteous though (again) definitely going to be his downfall.

SPOLIERS AHEAD
To begin with a pretty standard episode, that , to me, looked a bit cheap thanks to the interior sets.
The episode finally reeled me in when the Doctor got up and finally walked away.  His (delusional?) self righteous turnabout sets the scene for the remaining episodes, and the crews horrific reaction to his egomaniac attitude was cool.
I was half expecting the Captain to take a shot at the Doctor, and  her final course of action had me speechless.

Look forward to seeing the final two episodes.

For anyone who has watched the David Tennant Era, He has been despite he comical antics one of the most ruthless Doctors ever, more ruthless than Colin Baker or William Hartnell.  He gives his warning, but when he is done, his punishment could be worse than that of many villains.  Just watch "Being Human " & "Family of Blood".
He has also been a very lonely Doctor, especially since Rose left.
The basic story was indeed a Zombie story with a throwback to the Ice Warriors, old villains of the Doctor.  The last 10 minutes was what we all really wanted to see.  How was the shit going to hit the fan, and it did in a big way.
While I am working on watching every single episode of the doctor ever, and have roughly 71 story arcs left (21 of which are missing) I can say that I have never seen the Doctor flip out as he did in this episode.  For a brief moment in time, He completely lost it.  I guess being the only member left of a once powerful race will do that to a person.
I give it 4 slices of Meatloaf.  If it wasn't for him flipping out, it would have been 3 slices.

I like the episode well enough.  Had some good character moments, and it definitely had a 'Part One of Three' ending, which I suppose was the point.

It had that "Second Doctor Trapped On A Base Of Some Sort" feel to it, including references to the Ice Warriors of that era, but took a sudden left turn halfway through...
