I watched Push over the weekend. It was...adequate?

Although I like the three main actors (Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, and Camilla Belle) and I was okay with the individual parts of the film, I found the entirety of the work to be somewhat lacking. The concepts I liked have been done many times before, and better at that. The elements that were unique to the film seemed to fall flat.

I think it is a movie that is worth watching some Sunday afternoon when you're bored, which is exactly what I did. But I doubt it will make its way into your permanent collection.

I read that Wildstorm produced a prequel comic for the movie. I wonder if it is any good in its own right and/or added anything to the movie experience.

I have this sitting next to my TV to watch, but I haven't gotten to it yet.  At least you didn't say it was unwatchable.  Grin

I am not expecting a great movie, but something that doesn't feel like I wasted my time would be good too.  Grin

I think Push will fit neatly in your "unwatchable<>great" continuum. It has a more urban feel than most super-hero movies and I wouldn't consider it in that category anyway.

I think you'll decide it was worth watching at least once, might even make you take time to think about the plot, and then you'll likely move on with life. So, the movie doesn't induce suicide- That's gotta mean it's okay, right?

I'd be glad to hear your critique after viewing.

I watched it pretty recently, and I liked it.

It wasn't earth-shatteringly good. But it had a lot of stuff going for it.

For me, I think it was just refreshing to watch an American movie take place in Hong Kong. Stylistically speaking the characters were very cool and memorable, screaming twins, swave indian guy, creepy mind erasing guy, and so on.

I'd recommend it, as was mentioned before, for a sunday afternoon.

And, y'know, I was glad to see the protagonist actually be a decent character for once. It seems like the main characters of movies anymore are somewhere between anti-hero and straight up @$$hole. I couldn't stomach Jumper because, on top of its many shortcomings, the main character was deplorable.
