An odd surprise hit earlier this year was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which retells the Jane Austen story with the undead thrown in for good measure.Â Lionsgate films will finance and distribute the film, but it’s Natalie Portman who is producing and starring.

Portman will play feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy.

As long as the movie isn’t as dog slow as the last Pride and Prejudice I was forced to watch a few years ago, I think it might actually work.
