We posted the Ivan Reis black and white version of this image yesterday, and today The Source releases the image color.  Now is the time to really see what is going to happen over the next year, and as I mentioned yesterday, it looks like many of the things undone, retconned, and redone in Blackest Night/Brightest Day may be going through a major change.

HOLY SHIT TWO-FACE IS SIMON HURT!!!

Remembering sneeks like this in the past, it’s probably best that I don’t even guess. Some of their answers were pretty far fetched IMO.

  • Ricco:

Wait, are you saying Ben is Glory?

  • Brent:

    I’m intrigued by:

1)Bloody boomerangs, because the Captain and Boomer/Jr. either need a new status quo or some closure.

2)Jason Rausch and Ronnie Raymond burying the Black Lantern Firestorm (cargo pants on one, a wife beater on the other…apparently their fashion sense is dead too.

3)Black Manta in the shadows behind the new AquaLad (I am your Father, Luke)

    4)Is that Blue Devil’s trident?

5)I’m guessing that Hal will eventually be the White Lantern (ugh) whose sacrificial “blood” will resurrect Aquaman (and an Aquaman ongoing series)once and
    for all.

Message to the Martian Manhunter: “Only YOU can prevent forest fires.” Somewhere Chief Iron Eyes Cody has a tear falling down his cheek).

    • Thank you for mentioning the Iron Eyes Cody reference, by the way. It got a good chuckle out of me.

    • Looks to me like the Ronnie Raymond/Jason Rusch clue could go one of three ways:

      * Option 1: Ronnie and Jason are working together, rather than against each other, burying the Black Lantern Firestorm. This could represent them working together to bury the past and put the tragedy of Gehenna behind them.

      * Option 2: Ronnie and Jason are working together, rather than against each other, to dig out the Black Lantern Firestorm. This could represent them working together to fully explore the Firestorm matrix.

      * Option 3: Ronnie is burying the Black Lantern Firestorm, while Jason is uncovering the Black Lantern Firestorm. If you look at the direction each character’s head is facing, an argument could be made for this interpretation. Also, Ronnie is on top of the pile of rocks (as if he put the rocks there) and Jason is on the ground (as if he’s taking the rocks off). This could represent Ronnie trying to bury what happened as the Black Lantern Firestorm, while Jason is trying to uncover the truth.

To reset, everybody lick Aquaman’s skull.

I find it rather hilarious that Mera still has time to arch her back and stick out her ass while heading towards Arthur.

  • Bob:

I bet they are gonna resurrect Jean Grey at the conclusion to this and we are finally going to get New Teen Titans/Xmen crossover number 2 that got cut when the original Avengers/JLA went down. That’s what I think this is all leading up to.

  • So… the Anti-Monitor is an angry stormcloud now?

  • Jeff:

    Sucks. Hate it.
