If you are tired of vampires, perhaps you’d like to check out a werewolf tale set in the old west.  Co-Creator of the Zuda Comics series dropped us a quick email about the launch tonight (Monday) at sundown.

Our special thanks to everyone who has helped make HIGH MOON a success in 2008. 2009 has plenty of surprises in store (along with a HIGH MOON trade in October!)

Oh… Dear… God… NO!

I can understand the zombie craze.  I can appreciate the love affair with the undead vampire.  I can even go so far as to say werewolves have their place in story telling.  But dear jeebus, why’d you have to convince someone in DC editorial that Superman & Batman should take on Vampires and Werewolves?

Zenescope Entertainment has announced a new five issue mini-series by Denny Williams and Christian Beranek that promises a new origin story for the popular werewolf horror genre.

Deacon McKay, a cop from the NYPD, takes a job back in the place where he grew up. After a series of murders, he uncovers the dark past of Willow Creek and comes face to face with his own demons.

Willow Creek is an actual town in California, and Beranek was able to go there to snag reference photos for the series.

“It’s a very creepy place,” says Beranek, known for the amount of research he puts into a project. “I was able to take a ton of great pics and get a vibe for the town. There is a lot of mystery there, being it’s the self-proclaimed home of Bigfoot, and that is conveyed in the book.”

Art for the series will be done by Willow Creek co-creator Josh Medors.
