Wes Molebash, friend of the site, and creator of the web comic You’ll Have That, dropped us an email yesterday alerting us to his new web comic venture – Max vs. Max.

It would seem that Maxwell Stanton’s worst enemy is, well . . . Maxwell Stanton.  Recently divorced and struggling to find direction in his life, Max does his best to stay optimistic while wrestling with his insecurities and feelings of guilt.  Fortunately for Max, he has an awesome group of friends and a loving family to help him out and kick him in the pants.

Max vs. Max is about the underdog in all of us – that determined feeling we get that urges us to conquer the world even when the chips are down and the light at the end of the tunnel is still several miles away.  Max is proof that seemingly insignificant people can do very significant things.

It’s probably going to be a lot different that what was found in the You’ll Have That series, but if it has half the charm, it will be a big success.

The adventures in the Major Spoilers magical universe continues, as Matthew welcomes Matthewptlk to the show.

This January, NBM is proud to bring volume three of Lewis Trondheim’s amazing LITTLE NOTHINGS series, “Uneasy Happiness,” to readers. Taken from Trondheim’s illustrated blog, these comics are his musings on the everyday ironies of life, his anxieties, funny travel observations, ways of finding clouds within the brightest sunshine, his obsessive hypochondria, and many other relatable nerdy preoccupations. As Trondheim himself will tell you, it’s a whole lotta not much… and people are loving it!

As an added bit of excitement for comics fans, the NBM Blog (http://www.nbmpub.com/blog) is now featuring installments of LITTLE NOTHINGS twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Right now we’re showcasing some of the amazing strips featured in volume three, so those who check out the blog will not only see some great comics, but they’ll also view preview pages from this must-read book.

LITTLE NOTHINGS VOL. 3: 6×9, 128pp, full color trade pb with flaps, $14.95,

ISBN 978-1-56163-576-4

Otter Disaster was swamped this week, and fell a bit behind.  Luckily, we have a Major Spoilers Adventures backup adventure for you to enjoy this week.  The Fifth Dimension Saga will continue next week.

Many of you are probably familiar with Randall Munroe’s xkcd web comic series that brings a chuckle to my face every day. Instead of featuring his stick figure work, today I want to show-off his take on the chart meme sweeping the Intardwebz that features everything from space missions, to Star Trek history. His take on Lord of the Rings is nice, but it’s his Primer interpretation that has me in stitches.

Head over to his site for the full image.

All is not well in Stephen’s fantasy…

If you are interested in the Flit Card, you can learn more here.

I have little doubt that Stephen is indeed looking at an expanded brand of Major Spoilers Merchandise, sure to be arriving in the store very soon.  I just hope it isn’t Matthew and Rodrigo action figures.

Press Release

Bankshot officially announced today the debut of its new webcomic: “Citizen X: The Mission“, a western set in a world where Hannibal Barca defeated Rome and led Carthage to become a lasting empire.

The mini-series follows a young policeman, Rakh al’Gadriel, as he is sent to the empire’s western frontier, a small town in what we know as Ireland. The frustrated young man must prove he can control the rising tensions between settlers and natives, but no one can keep a lid on human nature.

“Citizen X” is drawn by Leonardo Pietro and colored by JuanManuel Tumburus.

This week, we find Stephen succumbing to suggestions of the imps, and the results really aren’t that surprising.

If you can’t get enough Atomic Robo, check out Digital Robo over at the Nuklear Power website.  It’s a short seven page story titled “The Yonkers Devil”.  This may be a one-time only deal, although if you flood the Nuklear Power site this week (and next) to read and reread the short, it may change someone’s mind.

Matthew and Stephen arrive at their destination, and in case you haven’t figured it out, this isn’t going to be your normal ongoing story.
