Walking Dead Sells Out Again

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007--by Stephen Schleicher

wd34.jpgImage Comics has let us know The Walking Dead #34 has sold out, making this the second issue in a row to do so. The company plans to send the issue back to print, and it is expected to be back in stores in early March.

“Last month’s issue kicked everything up a notch — everyone wants to find out what’s going to happen next,” says Image Comics Executive Director Eric Stephenson. “It also didn’t hurt that the Governor was named Wizard’s Villain of the Year for 2006. THE WALKING DEAD is consistently one of our best selling titles, but clearly, we’re still picking up readers.”

Walking Dead Sells Out in 24 Hours

Friday, December 8th, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

TWD33_2nd_250w.jpgImage Comics has announced The Walking Dead #33 has sold out in less than 24 hours, prompting the company to go back to press.

“A 24 hour sell-out is an incredible achievement,” said Image’s Executive Director Eric Stephenson. “Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard really pushed the envelope with this issue. It’s terrifying, it’s challenging, and what’s so great about THE WALKING DEAD is you never know what’s going to happen next. From brutal action to desperate romance to powerful commentary on the human condition, anything can happen in THE WALKING DEAD. This horrifying issue is a great example of why this series is such a hit.”

Image has sent us an update to let readers know, the 2nd printing will be in stores on December 27, 2006 instead of the originally expected January release.

Walking Dead Volume 5 Goes Back to Press

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006--by Image Comics

WALKING DEAD vol. 5: BEST DEFENSE has sold out of it’s entire print run, in less than a month. America’s best selling black and white comic book continues to run up the score.

With so many sell-out print runs for WALKING DEAD and INVINCIBLE already in his pocket, writer Robert Kirkman makes this look easy. It ain’t, boyo. Kirkman along with artists Charlie Adlard and Cliff Rathburn have put blood, sweat and tears into creating one of the most compelling epics in the history of American comics. Each edition of WALKING DEAD delivers with compelling characters, haunting art, and cliffhangers that leave your jaw on the floor.

WALKING DEAD is a zombie story that never ends and the sellouts don’t seem to be ending either.

“Wait. Hold up.” you say.

“Great news for the WALKING DEAD family, but what about the fans?” you say.

“What if I haven’t picked up my copy yet?” you say.

Don’t you fret, partner.  We’re going back to press. If you want more, we’ll make more! The second printing for WALKING DEAD vol. 5 BEST DEFENSE arrives in stores November 14, 2006.
