Kotobukiya sent us pictures of the upcoming Venom fine art statue, the first in a new lineup of Marvel Villains.

Gary Ross is already rewriting Spider-Man 4, and now he’s got a deal in the works to rewrite to direct Venom. It’s unlikely that Topher Grace will star in the movie as he’s a tad busy with the rebooted Predators movie.
Even though Marvel Entertainment was just acquired by Disney in a $4 billion deal, Columbia Pictures is able to turn Venom loose in a film because the studio holds rights in perpetuity not only to Spider-Man but to the villains in his universe.
Avi Arad and Ross will produce the spider-man spin-off.

Marvel announced that Dark Reign: The Sinister Spider-Man #1 has also sold out at Diamond, and will be going back to press with a variant cover featuring the interior art of Chris Bachalo.

After Matthew’s review of Thunderbolts #113 yesterday, I figured you might be interested in seeing one of the inked pages of Thunderbolts #114 by Mike Deodato Jr. It looks pretty sweet, what with Venom getting his ass handed to him in the first panel.

We’ve already seen Spider-Man blame himself for killing Mary Jane, but how will the elderly web slinger do against Venom? It’s all in this week’s sneak peek from Marvel.
Oops! As much as Sony wants to keep the ending to Spider-Man 3 and Venom under wraps, along comes Medicom Toy Company and spoils it all by revealing their S3 toy line.

Gone is the white spider, replaced by the dark gray lines instead. Looks pretty wicked. Word on the street is the figure will cost near $100, but the link on the Sideshow Collectibles site that had the pre-order information is now mysteriously missing.
