Vampires are all the rage at the moment, which is probably why Tony Lee and Peter-Davis Douglas and Neil Antwerpen have cooked up a sequel to the original Dracula tale called From The Pages of Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Harker.
A ghostly visit from the past informs Jonathan Harker that the legacy of Count Dracula isn’t over, for there was one last bride, the Countess Von Gratz, otherwise known as the Countess Dracule, a Vampire never seen in the classic novel – and she intends to travel to London to reap revenge on the people who killed her late husband, as well as take for her own nefarious means the unborn child of Mina and Jonathan Harker.
According to Tony Lee, this is the first graphic novel sequel to get approval from the Stoker family.
‘We are honoured to have people such as Dacre Stoker, Ian Holt and Leslie Klinger involved in our book, if only in a small way.’ Said Harry Markos, publisher of AAM/Markosia. ‘Tony met with Leslie in January, then Dacre and Ian in New York in February, and since then they’ve been incredibly helpful and supportive of our project. With so many ‘sequels’ out there that have no loyalty to the original book, it’s great that a book that does stay faithful to its source material gets such a windfall.’
Cool…
Take the jump for a sneak peek of the series that arrives in October.

The camera hasn’t even rolled on the second vampire flick, so it is kind of surprising Summit Entertainment has already tapped director Juan Antonio Bayona to helm the third installment of the series.
Bayona’s a protege of Guillermo Del Toro. He directed the Spanish-language horror-thriller “The Orphanage,” which was exec produced by Del Toro, and is attached to helm the Universal thriller “Hater,” with Del Toro and Mark Johnson producing.
Any of the Major Spoilers Legion watch the first Twilight movie? Are sparkling vampires the in thing?
Oh… Dear… God… NO!

I can understand the zombie craze. I can appreciate the love affair with the undead vampire. I can even go so far as to say werewolves have their place in story telling. But dear jeebus, why’d you have to convince someone in DC editorial that Superman & Batman should take on Vampires and Werewolves?
Fans of the vampire centric Moonlight series on CBS won’t get to follow the adventures of Mick St. John after this year’s season finale.
Even with a growing fan base, the budget and sagging ratings forced CBS to not renew the series next year.
It’s understood that Eye execs were not impressed with the show’s creative development, and there was much drama and turnover behind the scenes among producers and scribes and tussling between the network and studio over budgetary issues. The final straw was the show’s sagging ratings perf during the past few weeks after its post-strike return.
It’s a shame the show is ending, as I really dig Shannyn Sossamon.
