See Heroes for Free on iTunes

Friday, July 28th, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

As we reported previously, NBC is doing some very different things to promote their new Fall line up. Heroes being somewhat comic related is one such show. Now you can see it for free on iTunes beginning September 1, 2006.

(press release) NBC’s marketing in the digital arena takes a new turn as the network expands its corporate partnerships with National CineMedia, Nissan and Apple’s iTunes to cross-promote its new Fall drama “Heroes” by finding new ways to incorporate the products into scripts organically and offering consumers the chance to be the first to see the series.

Optimus Prime Has a Voice

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

It was announced both on G4 Comic Con Live show and by Michael Bay that Optimus Prime’s voice for the upcoming Transformers movie has been cast. Fans will be happy to know that Peter Cullen, who voiced Optimus Prime during the 80s cartoon, will be reprising his role for the feature flick.

Mum was the word when producers were questioned on the voice of Megatron, but if Cullen is a clue, we may get Frank Welker back as well. Word on the street is Welker has sent in an audition tape for the role of Megatron. In the animated series Cullen also voiced the characters Ironhide, Slugslinger, Streetwise, Wingspan, and Nightstick.

Super Ex-Girlfriend

Friday, July 14th, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

I’m not entirely sold on this movie, it could be great, but it could also be entirely lame.  If you don’t know the premise - boy wants girl, boy finds girl, boy breaks up with girl, girl turns out to be superhero, boy then gets stalked and harassed by super ex-girlfriend.

It stars Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson, and is directed by Ivan Reitman. You can find production stills over at the Dark Horizon’s website.

I’m at the Comic Con

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005--by Stephen Schleicher

and so it begins…

Got to San Diego for the motherload of all comicbook conventions, and we’re already tired! Walked about five miles in the SoCal heat and it took its toll on poor Chada. We’re taking off in a few minute to go sign in and check out Preview Night.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the biggest geek fan in the world and 1 being mild mannered Clark Kent, I would say I fall around a 7. Not strange enough to dress up, but goofy enough to get really excited about running around with 90,000 other comic fans.

There are tons of panel discussions we’ll be attending this week. Be sure to check back often for a daily diary. I’ll also post some comments here, as well as as many pictures as Chada will let me to take.

Excelsior!
