Ultimates 2 #13 (of 12)

Thursday, May 17th, 2007--by Matthew Peterson

Or - “Is It A Coincidence That This Thing Came Out During May Sweeps?”

U214.jpg

Well, this IS interesting. Many Spoilerites may NOT know that this issue marks an imaginary milestone for me… Ultimates 2 #12 was the first-ever review I did for Major Spoilers, waaaaay back in the heady days of October, 2006. Doesn’t seem that long ago, until you look at the hard numbers. That was Major Spoilers post #314. THIS is Major Spoilers post #1452. Captain America was alive. Spider-Man had a secret identity. And Iron Man wasn’t yet the red-and-gold Doctor Doom he is today. Heck, I wasn’t sure exactly what effect I was going for when I wrote that first piece, whether it was criticism, reviewing, whining about Bendis or just telling you all the good bits. Now that my mission statement is clarified, I have sort of smooshed together all of the above, with a healthy dose of snark and a smattering of comic book history, into the recaps we all know and barely tolerate. Now that the issue is here, there are two burning questions: First, IS he or ISN’T he? And second, will Matthew have the wherewithal to Photoshop together an EIGHT PAGE SPREAD?

Ultimates 2 #12 (of 12 or possibly 13)

Or “How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Drop A Book.”

UltCover.jpgFirst off, I suppose that I should introduce myself: Hey, I’m Matthew. You may remember me from such movies as “Bloody Mess On The Highway,” and “Calling All Lumberjacks.” I’m also known occasionally as The Lizard King, the twisted mind behind ‘The BMF List,’ now seemingly lost to the mists of time and internet.

Doctor Strange and Iron Man Animated DVD

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

Here are some more images from the two previews for Doctor Strange and Iron Man animated DVDs that are on the upcoming Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD (August 8 ). Both of the two direct to DVD movies tell origin stories of the lead characters, so you don’t have to see either of the Ultimate Avenger movies to know what is going on. A couple of facts: Iron Man will be a 3D generated character, while Doctor Strange will be a real S.O.B. at the beginning of the feature.

See First 10 Minutes of Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD Online

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006--by Stephen Schleicher

Tomorrow July 26, 2006, you can catch the first 10 minutes of the Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD online at Habbo.com. The first DVD did “okay”, and it is good to see companies willing to launch themed titles directly to DVD (see Warner/DC announcement earlier today).

Lionsgate (press release) — Through a partnership with HABBO, one of the world’s largest and hottest on-line destinations for teenagers, Lionsgate, the leading independent filmed entertainment studio, will premiere the first 10 minutes of its highly-anticipated Marvel™ animated feature, Ultimate Avengers 2, on the popular website, Habbo.com. This event marks the first time the online community will be able to view 10 full minutes of a never-before-seen film prior to its release. A virtual red-carpet premiere event will be held at the Habbo Theaterdome on July 26th at 4:00pm PST, where a host of “special guests” will be in attendance, including the human personas of Captain America™ (Steve Rogers), Iron Man™ (Tony Stark), The Hulk™ (Bruce Banner) and Black Panther™ (T’Challa). This will be a “black tie” affair – and all Habbos in attendance will be required to dress in black.

During the premiere event, registered users of the site, called “Habbos” will be able to attend by logging in to the virtual community and entering the Habbo Theaterdome to view the film footage and also respond within the community immediately – even while the footage is still playing. After the premiere showing is completed, Habbos will be treated to an interactive Q&A session with the Marvel Heroes from the movie who attended the premiere. Once the premiere event concludes, all other Habbos will be able to view the footage on Habbo.com for two weeks leading up to the August 8th DVD release of Ultimate Avengers 2.

Ultimate Avengers 2 is the second film in a multi-picture deal between Lionsgate and Marvel Studios and is the sequel to Ultimate Avengers: The Movie. Available on DVD on August 8th for the suggested retail price of $19.98.
