Iron Man: Armored Adventures

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008--by Stephen Schleicher

The new Iron Man animated series begins airing in 2009 on Nicktoons.  Until then, check out the trailer.

Tony Stark, heir to a billion-dollar corporation, lives a life of luxury, free to pursue his chief interests — seeing extreme thrills, solving scientific mysteries, and creating mind-boggling inventions.

But everything goes horribly wrong when a tragic accident robs Tony of his father and nearly costs him his own life. Now dependent on his own amazing technology for survival and dedicated to battling corruption, Tony must reconcile the pressure of teenage life with the duties of a super hero.

Inside his remarkable invention, Tony Stark is geared for high-speed flight, high-tech battles and high-octane adventure! He is IRON MAN!

Those attending San Diego Comic-Con can get a sneak peek at the first episode on Saturday July 26 at 10:00 AM (PDT) in room 6CDEF.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Trailer

Monday, July 14th, 2008--by Stephen Schleicher

The trailer for the upcoming game has hit the Interwebnets.

I haven’t been a big fan of the Mortal Kombat series since the mid-90s, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to give this game a pass as well.  Anyone eagerly anticipating this?

I’m betting you see this animated flick before the next installment of the Ultimate Hulk/Wolverine smack down.

Seems the three day weekend, did nothing for “breaking news”, instead there is a plethora of video clips and what-not hitting the interwebs today.

I really hope the third season of Heroes is better than season two.  I’m still not convinced adding more characters to the storyline is going to make the show better, but the story turn this season seems to be interesting.  I wonder if Kring will bring forth giant robots to hunt down the mutants at season’s end.

Does that voice sound familiar?  That’s Danny Aiello.

“This is a very exciting, innovative project,” said co-creator/writer Michael Furno, “I think people are going to be very surprised when they see the things we’re doing. It’s a fresh new look on zombies. We create a whole new world by challenging a lot of preconceived notions. I think people are going to be blown away.”

May I Touch Your Body?

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008--by Stephen Schleicher

Here’s another clip from Hancock, showing Will Smith trying to be politically correct in a crisis situation.

I still get the feeling this is going to be a great superhero flick, showing what happens when the nut jobs push for a kindler gentler hero that too constrained by rules to be effective.

Latest Wanted Trailer

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008--by Stephen Schleicher

It looks pretty good, and borrows a great deal from the original, but without F-Wit and S-Head (and all the other superhero references) this will be a good movie, but not a perfect adaptation.

High Definition version can be found here.

DC’s Trinity Teaser

Are you ready for another weekly series?

DC’s new weekly series TRINITY explodes in an extra-sized debut issue featuring art by fan-favorite Mark Bagley (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Art Thibert with lead stories and dialogue by Kurt Busiek (SUPERMAN, ASTRO CITY)!

The lead feature explores the unusual bond — and importance — of DC’s top three characters, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, as a mysterious dream links them together and may prophesy important changes in their trinity!

I’m hoping Trinity is a much different weekly than either Countdown or 52. 52 was great as it was a self contained story, but the “back bone of the DC Universe” that was supposed to be Countdown just didn’t work for me.

What are you more interested in; Trinity or Final Crisis with all its tie-ins?

Heroes Season 3 Trailer

Monday, May 12th, 2008--by Stephen Schleicher

Sounds like NBC is ripping the theme of Villains from DC’s Villains Win theme taking place over the next year.

But, I’m a sucker for this series, and as long a my TiVo continues to capture the show on time and in HD, I’ll sit down once a month for my Heroes marathon.
