Now that MegaCon and the Emerald City ComiCon are over, it’s time to start promoting other shows coming up in a few weeks. Walt Disney Studios sent Major Spoilers a rundown of their programming schedule, and if you want some insight into upcoming films, you might want to check it out.
Here’s another one of the new characters from the upcoming Toy Story 3 movie from Disney. Today it’s Twitch, the insect warrior.
Meet Twitch, the insectaloid warrior, where MAN + INSECT = AWESOME! This sturdy action figure stands over five inches tall, with more than 15 points of articulation, including ferocious chomping mandibles. Use his powerful wings and impenetrable exoskeleton to evade capture! Twitch is meticulously detailed and includes his signature magical battle staff and removable chest armor. For children ages 4 and up. Other insectaloid figures sold separately.
Disney sent Major Spoilers three more new character images, for this summer’s Toy Story 3. Take the jump for Ken, Peas-in-a-Pod, and Buttercup, plus another breakdown of Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear.
Here’s one of the new characters from Toy Story 3 – Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear, who, from the latest trailer, appears to be the big bad in the movie.
Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear is a jumbo, extra-soft teddy bear with a pink and white plush body and a velvety purple nose. This lovable bear stands fuzzy heads and shoulders above other teddy bears because he smells like sweet strawberries! With a smile that will light up your child’s face and a belly just asking to be hugged, Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear is sure to become a bedtime necessity. Stain-resistant. Spot clean plush surface with a damp cloth.
Disney Interactive Studios today officially announced development of Toy Story 3: The Video Game, supporting all major platforms and featuring a fun, new way to enjoy the Toy Story universe. Unveiled at the American International Toy Fair in New York City by Mary Beech, general manager and vice president of franchise development and marketing for Disney Consumer Products, Toy Story 3: The Video Game will feature film adventures along with Disney’s first open-world gameplay for kids. Inspired by the upcoming Disney•Pixar animated film, Toy Story 3: The Video Game is due on retail shelves June 15, 2010.

Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3 kicked off the American International Toy Fair in New York City today with a plethora of new toys and playthings that pay homage and celebrate the best the toy industry has to offer. In a playful, Toy Story-themed setting before an invitation-only crowd of toy industry insiders, Green Army Men descended from the ceiling in “take-over” mode as they helped John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, Lee Unkrich, director, Toy Story 3, Darla K. Anderson, producer, Toy Story 3 and John Ratzenberger, voice of Hamm, unveil a first look at some of the more than 250 new toys releasing this Summer and into the 2010 Holidays.
My son has recently discovered the Toy Story movies, and I have a feeling we’ll be in line on opening day for the third installment.

Studios sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of The Anchor #3, Cars: Radiator Springs #4, Farscape: D’Argo’s Quest #1, Hunter’s Fortune #2, Mickey Mouse and Friends #298, The Muppet Show Comic Book #0, Toy Story #0, and the Dead Run trade paperback. For the past 15 months, Buzz Lightyear – or rather the Buzz Lightyear action figure/toy – spent time floating around the International Space Station as part of a NASA – Disney educational outreach program. Coincidentally, Buzz returned to Earth on September 11th, just in time to promote this weekend’s Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Digital 3D double feature. Who’s going to see the movies again on the big screen?
