Dynamite Entertainment has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Army of Darkness #20, and The Boys #30 that arrive in stores this week.
Or – “The Real Story Behind The G-Men…”
For several weeks now, Wee Hughie has been undercover inside G-Wiz, the junior team of John Godolkin’s G-Men, a team of (oddly familiar) social outcasts with wild powers and a need for some Melodramamine. He has found that his teammates are almost decent people, despite Butcher’s protestations not to get involved. Hughie’s cover was blown last issue, and now the last living member of G-Whiz is about to spill Godolkin’s secrets… OR ELSE.
Arriving in stores this week (April 1) from Dynamite Entertainment are The Boys #29, Masquerade #2, and Army of Darkness #18.
Seeing as how I’m just a few days behind on this post, I’m sure most of the blogosphere and the Intar-webs are already lit up talking about the cover to Dynamite Entertainment’s Herogasm mini-series. The series spins out of Garth Ennis’ The Boys series, that takes a rather in your face approach to the superhero genre. Fans of The Boys will be happy to note that Garth is writing this mini, with John McCrea providing the art.
“Garth has a few special surprises for The Boys planned for the back-half of his story and this mini is the first,” explained Dynamite Associate Editor Joe Rybandt. “While Darick works on the main series, we’re especially pleased that we were able to reunite Garth and John McCrea for this mini which will shock even the most hardcore Boys fan. Guaranteed.”
Or – “Donnie Brasco Syndrome…”
…is a terrible, terrible disease (which I’ve just made up) describing the tendency of an undercover character to get too involved in the lives of those with whom he is covering under (not to be confused with “Donnie Darko Syndrome,” which is characterized by talking to giant zombie rabbits) and an inability to act in one’s own best interest. Inspector Hugh Campbell, our very own Wee Hughie, has infiltrated the G-Men, but doesn’t yet realize that he’s in too deep, and the water ain’t gettin’ any shallower…
Dynamite Entertainment kicks off the new year with two new titles arriving in stores this week. Take the jump for sneak peeks of The Boys #26, and Xena vs. Army of Darkness: What, Again? #3.
Or – “Wasn’t There Another Reviewer At Major Spoilers? Some Old Dude?”
It’s a little known fact that the month of December contains space-time anomalies that keep you from ever completing anything on time. Add to that a new paradigm at my office, wherein my team load has doubled and my patience halved, a tendency to want to spend time with my friends around the holidays, a scanner that works about half the time and my recent birthday, and I admit it… I may have been neglecting my reviews. Still, t’is nobler in the mind to beg forgiveness than it is to ask permission, so I’m back with a new batch of things you may have already read, but forgot to ask for my opinion on the first time.

Dynamite Entertainment has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Black Terror #2, Terminator Revolution #1, Zorro #9, The Boys: Definitive Edition Volume 1 Hardcover, The Lone Ranger Volume 2, and Jungle Girl Season 1. If you are a collected editions fan, then this is a week to head to the comic shop.

Or – “What You Always Expected The X-Mansion Was Really Like…”
For some time now, Butcher and his band of Merrie Men have focused pretty much exclusively on The Seven, a Justice-League-esque group of superhumans who have proven themselves to be petty, vain, cruel, venal, and just flat-out awful, with feet of clay that reach all the way to their necks. While they’re still on the radar, the group has now adjusted it’s focus, widening their perspective while adjusting their focus to marvelous detail, to show us what’s wrong with legendary (and gigantic) supergroup, The G-Men. Care to place a wager on how many deadly sins’ll be broken in these pages? Adult situations and dialogue within, I might add…
Or – “Three Weeks Of Comics In Handy Bite-Sized Servings!”
A side-effect of reading as many comics as I do comes when, after a particulary heavy week of reads, you find all the stories kind of blurring together into one. It makes for some pretty entertaining nightmares as well, like the one where Wonder Woman was guarding the galaxy against marauding zombies who wanted to shape-shift into teenagers and make out while simultaneously refitting all of our cars to fly and emit fire, and also giving our grandparents cyborg limbs that glow in the dark. So, I got that going for me… which is nice.

Or – “When They Said, ‘Get A Life,’ I Should Have Said ‘&$@$ YOU!”
So, for those of y’all who were not aware I DO have things on my weekly schedule that are NOT comic-related. Not many of them, granted, but they do exist. One of them is my day job, overlooking (I almost typed overworking) twelve awesome telephone service representatives in their day-to-day quest to resolve issues for our beloved customers. August was a rough month for my guys (nicknamed “Team Ramrod”) and has required me to spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about AHT, IR, BP, SV, and other meaningless initials. In any case, I’m officially back to let you know I can really shake ‘em down, with another smorgasboard-orgasbord-orgasbord of comicky goodness, all wrapped up in heavy weapons and pop-culture references. Yeah, I missed youse guys, too.
Holiday weekends are great for relaxing, but terrible for the big Wednesday haul. This week, everything arrives on Thursday, so until then, Dynamite Entertainment has sent a sneak peek of its titles arriving then.
