According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to play John Connor’s wife in the fourth installment of the Terminator movies.
Howard last starred as Gwen Stacy in “Spider-Man 3″ and next stars in the “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” based on a long-forgotten screenplay by Tennessee Williams.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins stars Christian Bale as John Connor, and is being directed by McG. As wild and over the top McG’s editing and directing style are, I’m very interested to see what he comes up with in this fourth movie.

Shirley Manson, the lead singer for Garbage, has been cast as recurring character Catherine Weaver in Fox’s second season of Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The Weaver character is described as the CEO of a “cutting edge technology company”, which I hope means high-tech hardware and not Web 2.0 startup vying for attention from Michael Arrington.
I have yet to watch a single episode of the series starring Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and Summer Glau as terminator Cameron Phillips. Is it good, bad, or just something to sit back and fill the hour between other network shows?

For those who dug The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but thought the season was just too short, rejoicing is in order as Fox has announced plans to continue the series for a second season.
The series could also get an early back-nine order, Reilly said. Next May, Fox will release the fourth “Terminator” film which could make for some ideal corporate synegy should the TV series survive the fall. Reilly said he’s already spoken to the film’s direct McG about cross-promotional possibilities.
For those who also like NBC’s Heroes, Fox did indicate the SCC would more than likely get a new time slot so as not to compete with the other show.

The headline is a bit misleading. What it really should say is Sony buys the rights to distribute the next Terminator movie, staring Batman’s Christian Bale, internationally.
McG will helm the film, the first in a new “Terminator” trilogy that stars Christian Bale as John Connor. The project also reunites John Brancato and Michael Ferris, who partnered to pen “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” as well as Moritz Borman, a producer on the 2003 film.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is scheduled to be in theaters in the first half of 2009.

With the resurgence of all things Terminator (television series, new movie in the works), it makes sense for Dark Horse to collect the old Terminator issues into one giant Omnibus.
The Terminator Omnibus Volume I includes Terminator Tempest, One Shot, Secondary Objectives, and The Enemy Within. It will be available in retail stores everywhere February 20, 2008 with an SRP of $24.95. The Terminator Omnibus Volume II will follow on March 26.
I would have to rummage through the DrawerBoxes to find those issues, but I seem to remember a couple of the series were pretty good. With Omnibus editions of Aliens, Predator, Indiana Jones, and now Terminator making the Omnibus collections, you can bet the entire 1990s catalog will make it to Omnibus shelves soon.

I would think we’ve all had enough Terminator films, comics, and television shows, but apparently Warner Bros. thinks otherwise, as they prepare to relaunch the Terminator franchise.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is an attempt to “reinvent the cyborg saga” that will be told over three films being written by John Brancato and Michael Ferris.
The producers said that the new film will carry the size and scale of “Terminator 3,” and will have an event-sized budget. It will likely be less than the $200 million pricetag of “Terminator 3,” which was saddled with extravagant costs that included above the line payouts, rights payments and heavy fees incurred through a complex financial structure.
The film will be set in the future featuring the full-scale war between Skynet ad humankind.
Interesting, because I went to Universal Studios and sat through a live action/3d show that featured the same thing…
Terminator Salvation is set to arrive in Summer 2009.

Dynamite Entertainment has announced the Trial by Fire storyline will reach a conclusion this September.
Issue #4 brings the first Terminator 2 comic book event racing towards its startling conclusion, as John and his new found army continue to attack Skynet under the guidance of Uncle Bob, a T-800 loyal to John and his human companions. But, what will they do when Uncle Bob faces the T-Infinity in a battle in which only one of the deadly killing machines is able to walk away in one piece!
In a prepared statement writer Simon Furman said, “This is possibly my favorite issue so far, as things start to roll headlong towards the epic conclusion. As we all know, it’s never easy for John Connor, and his first faltering steps to becoming leader of the human resistance movement hit a serious setback in this penultimate issue. Writing the continuing adventures of John Connor and his battle against Skynet and the Terminators has been a blast from start to finish. The Terminator films are something of a passion of mine, and I’m doing my very best to ensure that comes through in the series. I’ve had amazing freedom to really propel the core story onwards, and this, really, is just the beginning.”
Take the jump for a close look at the two covers.

Dynamite Entertainment has announced it will be releasing the second issue of the all new Terminator 2 series this July. Terminator 2 #2 is written by Simon Furman with art by Nigel Raynor.
Dynamite stated: “As Sarah Connor noted in the T2, ‘the future is not set’ - and it is with that revolutionary statement in mind that writer Simon Furman and artist Nigel Raynor are able offer fans a very nasty and unpredictable taste of events to come. Fans know the back-story, and that allows our creative team to really crank up the action and revelations and present the genuine desperation of young John Connor as he struggles to survive with the fledgling human resistance!”
Dynamite has provided Major Spoilers with the three variant covers to this on going series.
