Smallville fans who are waiting to find out who has been cast as Zod in the next season of Smallville are going to have to wait a while longer, but in the meantime, TVGuide.com found out another bit of information. Brian Austin Green has been cast as John Corben. That’s right, Metallo is coming to Smallville in season 9.
The Smallville producers are going to dive into the Silver Age, by making Corben a reporter for the Daily Planet, instead of a crazed scientist (Golden Age), a petty thief (Modern Age), or Lex Luthor lacky (Superman: The Animated Series). According to the CW, the new season of Smallville debuts on Friday, September 25.
I’m digging the Huntress vibe Lois Lane is giving off in tonight’s episode of Smallville – but come on, Stiletto?

Tom Welling has signed up for the 9th season of The CW’s Smallville series, causing many fans to cry, ‘WHY!?” and others to proclaim, “Tom Welling is my love god!” Granted, I don’t know who those people are who are screaming about the love god part (Matthew), but considering the show is going for season 9, there has to be a large enough fan base of Tom Welling lovers out there (Matthew). While it’s great to see an ongoing superhero series on television, I can’t help but feel sad we won’t be seeing Lana back as a regular.
For the rest of us (not Matthew), check out two pics of Serinda Swan who plays Zatanna in an upcoming episode. Oh, and be on the lookout for the Legion to return in the May finale, Matthew.
Is a Smallville reboot on the way? Perhaps everyone will get mind wiped at the end of the episode, or more than likely, a dream sequence. Tori Spelling as Linda Lake? Man, I really need to spend a weekend with catching up with all the shows on my TiVo.
Smallville: Superhero Gone Wild airs March 12, 2009.

TV Guide is floating the rumor that model Serinda Swan may make an appearance on the CW’s Smallville playing the backwards talking, wand waving, magician Zatanna.
Swan will appear in this season’s 17th episode, “Hex,” as Zatanna, a magician who grants birthday girl Chloe a wish. Having been through the wringer ever since Brainiac mind-boinked her and Doomsday crashed her wedding day, Chloe expresses a desire to lead the comparatively mild-mannered life of Lois Lane. Voilà! Chloe magically inhabits Lois’ (and thus Erica Durance’s) body for the bulk of the hour.
Let’s see, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Legion of Super-Heroes, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, but STILL no Bruce Wayne.
Oh, and if that picture doesn’t do anything for you, there are some more Serinda Swan pics after the jump.

Don’t forget the Legion of Super-Heroes make their debut on the CW’s Smallville January 15, 2009. Looks like it is going to be an excellent episode, and my TiVo is already set.
Check your local listings for actual times in your area, and don’t forget Pres. Bush is asking networks to air his farewell address to the nation, which could skew start times for the show.
You’ve probably already seen this, but just in case you haven’t, here’s the trailer for the new Smallville episode featuring everyone’s favorite teen trio from the future – the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Just as I hoped, it looks like the Legion have traveled to the past to fight Braniac, who has taken over Chloe’s body (oh noze!).
Here’s a sneak peek of episode 811, that features Doomsday, and something more…

We’ve already told you about Alex Johnson playing Saturn Girl in the upcoming Smallville episode featuring the Legion of Super-Heroes. IMDB has updated the show’s cast naming Ryan Kennedy as Cosmic Boy and Calum Worthy as Lightning Lad.
The scheduled date for the show is in January, which just so happens to be the same month the Legion of Super-Heroes comic ends with issue #50. Nice timing. Of course the first appearance of the Legion occurred in Adventure Comics #247, and DC is wisely launching a new Adventure Comics series in February, so maybe someone is on the ball after all…. BWA-HA-HA-HA! Who am I kidding?

I’ve seen the rumors floating around teh Intrawebs for a couple of weeks, but it looks more official now. Canadian actress Alexz Johnson will play Saturn Girl in a Geoff Johns written episode of the CW’s Smallville. The Legion of Super Heroes episode will also feature Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad and airs November 27, 2008.

For whatever reason, the very mention of Laura Vandervoort on the Major Spoilers website, sends the counter through the stratosphere. It’s been a couple of months since the Smallville star has been mentioned, so why not get the search engines in a tizzy again?
Vandervoort will reprise her role as Kara on the November 6th episode of Smallville. Last time we saw her, she was trapped in the Phantom Zone, but if Kal-El can return, why can’t Supergirl? The episode finds Clark and Lois transported to the Phantom Zone, where they meet Kara who is somehow able to send the duo back to Earth, but not herself. Who else makes it through? Zod’s wife for one, so you know mayhem will ensue.
Here’s a peek at what you can expect from your first episode of Lana and Lex-less Smallville.

Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season arrives September 9, 2008 from Warner Home Video, and in addition to all the episodes (Laura Vandervoort and Kristin Kreuk in HD WOOT!), the DVD collection includes several special features including Supergirl: The Last Daughter of Krypton, and Jimmy on Jimmy.

Geoff Johns has announced he is writing an espisode of the CW’s Smallville that will feature the Legion of Super-Heroes.
“I can’t get into any specifics about the story we’re telling because we’re still working on it all. But they’re from the 31st Century. And it will be focusing on some obvious characters who first met Clark,” Johns said. “It will be written to fit with Smallville, and I think it’s going to be a really fun challenge to approach the Legion in a different way. But with me, you know you’re going to see Legion rings, and they’re going to be as true to the core as possible. It’s going to be the Legion of Super-Heroes.”
Does anyone remember the Legion of Super-Heroes episode from Superman: The Animated Series (Season 3 – New Kids in Town)? That was a great introduction of the LoSH into Clark Kent’s life, and I hope they do something like that in the show.
For some reason you guys (and gals) have made Laura Vandervoort the most searched for term on the Major Spoilers site, just edging out Rachel Bilson.
So for your Friday pleasure, Laura Vandervoort in a bikini.
