Zenescope Entertainment Sneak Peek of the Week

Saturday, March 3rd, 2007--by Stephen Schleicher

picon.jpg

Zenescope slipped Major Spoilers a peek of two titles currently available at your local comic book store. First up is Grimm Fairy Tales #11, telling the tale of Bluebeard. I have the first trade of Grimm Fairy Tales in my “need to review” pile. The art in this series is really good, and I love the Al Rio covers. The stories are not half bad either, somewhat predictable, and light on the gore and violence, but fun none-the-less.

The second preview is of Se7en #3: Sloth. This issue follows John Doe as he claims his third victim - a drug dealer pedophile whom John slowly tortures over many months. This series is slightly more disturbing (see my other Se7en review), and takes a radically different approach to the art style.

David Mack Writes Se7en #6

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007--by Stephen Schleicher

se7en_envy_cover.jpgZenescope Entertainment has announced David Mack, creator of Kabuki, has written the sixth installment of Se7en. Se7en is the back story of John Doe and the Seven Deadly Sin killings from the movie of the same name. In this installment, David Mack will be taking on the task of Envy.

“Writing from the POV of a psychopath came incredibly natural to me,” says Mack. Artist “Leif Jones, who I’ve been meaning to work with for 10 years,” brings his unique skills to the table for the penultimate chapter.

David Wohl Takes Pride In Se7en

Monday, November 20th, 2006--by Zenescope

05_Pride.jpgDavid Wohl, co-creator of Witchblade and The Darkness, has signed on to script Pride, the fifth installment in the Se7en series from Zenescope Entertainment and New Line Cinema.  Se7en features the origin of John Doe, one of the most nefarious big screen villains of all time.

“Few films have impacted the mental landscape of the movie going public quite like Se7en,” says Wohl, the former Editor-In-Chief for Top Cow Productions.  “David Fincher’s bleak masterpiece spawned dozens of imitators but none can match the original. I’m thankful that Zenescope has chosen me to write this issue.”

The second installment of Se7en, Greed, reaches store shelves in early December.  The first issue, Gluttony, sold through its initial Diamond orders in a day and is now available for re-order through the distributor or online at www.zenescope.com.
