Edgar Wright has been a busy director, posting more images from the set for everyone to enjoy. From what I’ve seen, I’m liking the overall look of the film, and the actors picked to play the roles are starting to grow on me.
Edgar Wright offers fans of the Scott Pilgrim series another blog entire to keep everyone posted on the progress of the movie.
Here’s the latest from director Edgar Wright.

With a bazillion people reading the Scott Pilgrim series, and the movie in production, it’s a pretty sure bet that merch will fly off the shelves when the movie hits. That is if Universal Studios Consumer Products Group can find someone to produce the clothing, accessories, action figures, novelties and whatnot.
When those figures do become available, I’m hoping they are the Bryan Lee O’Malley designs and not Michale Cera version.
Director Edgar Write has posted a second video from the Scott Pilgrim set, this time with actors.
Blog Two – First Day of Principal Photography – Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World from Scott Pilgrim The Movie on Vimeo.
Edgar Wright, the director behind the upcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie, posted this introductory video at the official Scott Pilgrim movie website over the weekend, in which he gives fans a hint of things to come.

Here’s some green screen goodness from the Scott Pilgrim set. I bet whoever is getting their ass kicked in the image is about to explode into a billion gold coins.

Everyone knows it’s all about Matthew, as listeners and readers hang on to his every word. In two recent MSP episodes, Matthew proclaimed his love for Romona Flowers from the Scott Pilgrim series, and Monique from the web comic Sinfest. As there can only be one – who is going to win? It’s a cartoon cat-fight in this week’s Major Spoilers Poll of the Week!
FIGHT!

Oni Press is gearing up to have a good time at the 2009 New York Comic Con with the big release of Scott Pilgrim vs. The Universe. Oni has sent Major Spoilers a rundown of its events, panels, and signing for the convention.
From Oni Press:
Oni Press is in New York City for this year’s New York Comic Con! February 6th – 8th we’ll be strutting our stuff at booth #1413. Come by and check out our eclectic library of titles including the premiere of:
SCOTT PILGRIM VOLUME 5: SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE UNIVERSE
by Bryan Lee O’Malley
Scott Pilgrim is at the top of his game: he just turned 24, he moved in with the girl of his dreams, and he defeated at least half of The League of Ramona’s Evil Exes. But life at the top is treacherous and if things can’t possibly get any better for Scott, it means they can only get infinitely worse! Scott’s band is in total turmoil, his own exes have all boarded the train to crazy town, and Ramona’s evil exes have started appearing in pairs! And what’s up with Ramona, anyway? She’s been acting kinda weird ever since she and Scott moved in together. It’s the second-to-last volume of the Scott Pilgrim series and it looks like Scott’s precious little life has come back around to bite him in the butt!
Bryan Lee O’Malley has unveiled the cover to Scott Pilgrim #5. Behold!

It’s too bad we still have to wait until February 2009 to read this. Perhaps by then a certain someone will return our copies of the first four volumes so we can talk about the series on the show.
Bryan Lee O’Malley has posted on his Live Journal page some info about the next installment of Scott Pilgrim.

Title: SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE UNIVERSE
Release date: February 4, 2009
To “debut” at New York Comic-Con, February 6-8, 2009.
EDIT: IT’S RAMONA ON THE COVER, OKAY? DEAL WITH IT
Most excellent!

Word around H’wood this morning is that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (the cheerleader in Death Proof) is in negotiations to play the love interest of one Michael Cera in the big screen adaptation of Oni Press’ Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film is only adapting the first volume of the Scott Pilgrim saga, and not the entire run (of which only four have been released).
As much as I really enjoy reading the adventures of Scott Pilgrim, I wonder how some of the material will translate (or not translate to the big screen) – especially the under 18 girl Pilgrim dates for a while.
For those of you who have read the Scott Pilgrim series, what are your thoughts on the flick?
Is this Scott Pilgrim?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Cera is in final negotiations to play the lead in Scott Pilgrim’s Little Life based on Bryan Lee O’Malley.
“Life” tells the story of a young slacker (Cera) who meets the woman of his dreams but finds that he can only win her heart by battling and defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends.
I think Cera would be a great Scott Pilgrim, and once all the roles are cast, Universal will begin production – probably in the fall.
