With over 150,000 people crowding the convention center, everyone may not have been able to get to the Dark Horse panels for the day. Luckily, we have the highlights – and not the Goofus and Galant kind of Highlights either. Majestic, battle-ready and ruthless, Arthur Suydam’s beloved antiheroes Cholly & Flytrap are finally physically realized with a gorgeous and detailed bronze figurine to be displayed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International 2009. Hand sculpted by Suydam himself, this figurine is the first of a very limited signed and numbered quantity to be produced by Radical Toyz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Radical Publishing. The figurine displays Cholly sitting on top of his sumo-sized companion Flytrap heading off into incredible action, adventure or trouble that comes their way.

Lucasfilm sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the next season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. If you haven’t seen this series in HD, you best call your cable company, because it looks amazing.

As I write this, it is currently Thursday 9 PM, I just got back from a full day of walking and signatures at the 40th Anniversary from the San Diego Comic-Con, and I am absolutely BEAT.
Seriously, every year I go to this big time comic book and entertainment bash, and every year I’m shocked at how dead tired I am. But I will soldier on, for you, the Major Spoilers Readers that want this Poster Project to happen!

Image Comics made a couple of announcements over the last couple of days, so once again, here’s your rapid-fire roundup of news from the company. For fans, take the jump to see what’s ahead for Invincible, especially with the announcement that Atom Eve isn’t dead, but is very naked.
I really like what I’m seeing in the preview trailer Disney showed off at the San Diego Comic Con. Being someone who is old enough to remember seeing the original in theaters, I can’t wait to see what happened to the characters years later.
Warner Bros. has announced that the success of the Thursday night premiere of Green Lantern: First Flight was so successful that the company has set up another showing on Sunday July 26, at 2:15 PM.
Sunday’s encore presentation will be held in Room 6BCF. CCI credentials/passes are required to gain admittance to the Convention Center and, thus, the screening.
If you are in San Diego and reading this post, I highly recommend you get over to the screening.

Today at San Diego Comic Con, IDW Publishing announced that Eisner award-winning creator Bill Willingham will be joining the company on two separate projects. Willingham will bring his lauded storytelling ability to IDW’s ongoing Angel series, with his first six-issue story, “The Crown Prince Syndrome,” launching in December. Then, in 2010, IDW will publish a new fantasy book by Willingham and artist Gene Ha: Back Roads, the first collaboration of these two highly regarded creators.
“Bill is someone I’ve long wanted to work with,” said IDW Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Chris Ryall. “His storytelling ability and strong sense of character perfectly suit a book like Angel, and his first collaboration with Gene is a pairing of two true comic book superstars. I’m ecstatic about both.”
Jon Favreau is kickin’ it at the Attack of the Show booth at the San Diego Comic Con, and while there, he’s Twittering a bunch of images.


For anyone in the comics industry the Eisner Awards have to be on par with the OSCARS. Last night at the San Diego Comic Con, the 2009 winners were announced. Congratulations go out to all the winners. As you walk the show floor today, hold your head up high.

Following up on the announcement of Darren Bousman signing at the Radical Publishing booth for the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con, Radical Publishing is proud to announce that Bousman, the acclaimed director of Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV, is attached to write and direct Abattoir as a feature film, based on the upcoming comic miniseries developed by Bousman and writing-producing partner Michael Peterson. Abattoir chronicles real estate agent Richard Ashwalt who is assigned the impossible task of cleaning up after a brutal massacre that takes place at a mansion. As he cleans the blood-soaked grounds, a twisted old man journeys to the house with a sinister and terrifying purpose, and draws Richard into a web of shadows, murders and massacres that will shatter him to his very core…and make him run for his life.
