Marvel announced the first issue of Spider-Man/Red Sonja sold out at Diamond, which means the five-issue crossover by Michael Avon Oeming, Mel Rubi, Michael Turner, and Peter Steigerwald must be pretty hot.

It’s a very busy week, what with all this comic-con stuff going on, but that doesn’t mean you have to be left out in the cold with your Sneak Peeks. This weekend, Marvel has 12 sneaks of issues coming out on August 1.
The second batch includes New Warriors #3, Shanna: Survival of the Fittest #1, She-Hulk #20, Spider-Man/Red Sonja #1, Thor #2, and Uncanny X-Men #489. Unfortunately, we can’t show you any previews of World War Hulk #3, but we will have a Day of Release Review for you this week.
Dynamite Entertainment has released the cover images for Red Sonja #27 arriving in store this September. The issue continues the World on Fire storyline by Michael Avon Oeming and Brian Reed.
In “World on Fire” Red Sonja and crew are back in Hyboria, now subjugated under the iron hand of Kulan Gath. With a small, but determined band of resistance fighters, Sonja struggles to make a dent in Gath’s proverbial armor, but can she save the very world from the tyranny and evil of Gath!

Dynamite Entertainment has sent Major Spoilers sneak peeks of titles arriving in stores this week. Included in the previews are Red Sonja #24, New Battlestar Galactica #12 (of 12), and Raise the Dead #4 (of 4).
Dynamite Entertainment has announced the limited-edition Adam Hughes Red Sonja Statue has been re-solicited. The statue features real gems for the eyes and is limited to 138 pieces. The statue is based on Adam Hughes’ cover to Red Sonja #2 and is 9-inches high.
“In the formula for Red Sonja’s success, of course, are the 4 “C”’s - the character, creators, the concept and the (alternate) covers :-)! In addition to our regular team of Michael Avon Oeming, Mel Rubi, Brian Buchellato and Stephen Sadowski, there have been so many great creators chipping in- Frank Cho, Jim Lee, Roy Thomas, John Romita (Jr. and Sr.), Michael Turner, Marc Silvestri- the list goes on. The cover that Adam Hughes did for the RRP of issue #2 is a great contribution, and we are absolutely ecstatic to be able to bring his work to life. Spider-Man and Red Sonja are set to cross paths ala Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness in a five issue limited in-continuity series that will fit into both universes.

Dynamite Entertainment has announced Brian Reed, of Ms. Marvel and New Avengers: Illuminati fame, will be joining Michael Avon Oeming as the co-writer of Red Sonja starting with issue #25.
In a recent interview with Newsarama, Brian Reed said, “Sonja is a very strong woman, but there’s vulnerability under that hard warrior shell. She had a hard life as a child, and that has never really let up into adulthood. She was very much forged like a sword - subjected to various harsh and terrible events until she hardened into a proper weapon.
“What I love with what Mike has done so far is seeing those moments where her youth impacts on her present. He’s been doing a great job of telling a story from both ends, and really letting us see how Sonja became the woman she is today.”

Fans have really reacted in a positive manner over the Arthur Suydam cover to Savage Tales #1. You know, this one…
It is such a great cover that Dynamite Entertainment will be releasing an 18 x 24 inch poster this July.
“When I was working on this cover, I wanted to capture a moment of the calm following the storm. It’s like ‘what’s this pretty flower doing in the middle of this barren scene?’ What immediately sprung to mind was to create a painting that felt like Maxfield Parrish meets Robert E. Howard,” said Suydam.
While I like the idea of comic cover posters, this one is so amazing, I would much rather see it as a life size poster. I can imagine the fanboy reaction if such a thing were allowed.
The poster will sell for $7.99.
