It’s Friday, and our Red Sonja Art Appreciation Moment of the Day week has come to an end. To take us out, it’s a piece by Alvin Lee for the Red Sonja Goes East – One Shot from Dynamite Entertainment. The art is fitting for the story, as Red Sonja takes on a Manga-esque quality.
Another installment of Red Sonja for your Art Appreciation Moment of the Day, this time from Paul Renaud from his cover to Red Sonja: Doom of the Gods #3.
Our impromptu Red Sonja themed week continues, with this piece by Roy Cover. She’s a bit disproportional in the chest region to really swing a sword, but the hair and face rendering more than makes up for that.
Today’s Red Sonja entry comes from Chris Stevens, and it looks pretty nice. It was done as a commission, which is nice, as we get to see what a particular artist’s take on a character is like, even if the artist has never worked on that title.

Yup, Red Sonja is going to get the star treatment this week, with entries featuring her visage by some great artists from around the world. When I saw this image during my six-degrees experiment, I got a good chuckle from the piece, but then started looking at the line and color work and knew it had to be featured on the site.
I don’t have his last name (or is it his first), as such is the secrecy that is Deviant Art. Yesterday we featured a piece by Derek Fridolfs, which was colored by Judson, so to give him his moment in the spotlight, we’re featuring an original piece by Judson, which showcases everything good about Red Sonja. Do I sense another theme for next week?
This week, amid all the chaos, Dynamite Entertainment is serving up three new issues. Take the jump for a sneak peek of Herogasm #3, Red Sonja #46, and Project Superpowers: Chapter Two #1.
Dynamite Entertainment has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Zorro #14, and Red Sonja #45, both of whic arrive in stores this week. I’ve read the Zorro issue, and it’s a good end to the current arc, and sets up the future of the characters nicely.
Even with the shift in release days this week, Dynamite Enterainment still serves up a sneak peek of Red Sonja #44, Garth Ennis’ Battlefields: The Tankies #2, Garth Ennis’ Battlefields: Dear Billy TPB, and The Death-Defying ‘Devil TPB.
