Red 5 Comics has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of next week’s Beautiful Creatures #2.
If you are looking for a perfect holiday gift, then Red 5 Comics has you covered, as it is releasing all three volumes of Atomic Robo in December.
If you’ve been following all things Atomic Robo, you’ve known that there have been hints and fuzzy photos that indicated an Atomic Robo statue was on the way. Now it’s official, as Brian Wegener sent word that the units are shipping right now!
These are pretty small statues, standing just under 5-inches high. Only 250 are being made, and since I just bought two of them, there are now at most 248 remaining.

When the screaming starts, hit the kill switch
Of the three Atomic Robo story arcs we’ve been presented with so far, this one has been the one to really warp your mind to the point where you had better understand a little about theoretical physics, or know all the intricacies of Back to the Future 1, 2, and 3, plus the animated series, and that ride at Universal Studios in order to keep your sanity. It helps of course that the creators inject their likeness into the story to really tie it together nicely.
Drone doesn’t arrive until November, but that doesn’t mean we can’t run a sneak peek of Red 5 Comic’s latest comic right now. You can see all the android/human action after the jump.
When you are a world renowned robot that has crossed paths with everyone from Einstein to Hawking, hanging out at a cafe with Dr. Carl Sagan talking about a creature from out of space doesn’t seem too crazy. A fear of bugs on the other hand…
Next week (August 19, 2009) the next installment of Atomic Robo and We Kill Monsters hit the stands, and Red 5 Comics sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek.
When Atomic Robo creators Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener appeared on the Major Spoilers Podcast, they mentioned this story arc, Shadow From Beyond Time, wouldn’t be set exclusively during the 1920’s. Issue #3, in this five issue arc, finds Atomic Robo’s adventures once again entering into H.P. Lovecraft territory.
Red 5 has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Beautiful Creatures #1. The issue doesn’t arrive until September, but there is still plenty of time to order the full 48-page issue from your LCS.
The Doom that Came to Robo
So here we go with the second installment of the Shadow from Beyond Time story line. If you thought the first issue didn’t have enough of the fighty-fighty, and the laughy-laughy, then you’re going to be pleased as Punch (although without the murder and infanticide), as Robo and Charles Fort attempt to bring down the monster Lovecraft with a roadster and a couple of lightning guns.
Arriving in stores this week is the second chapter in the latest Atomic Robo series. Red 5 Comics has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the issue, that you can see after the jump.

Yes, Free Comic Book Day was weeks ago, but dang it, I’ve been busy with stuff (super secret stuff), and I only just made it to my FCBD stash in my ever growing comic book stack, which is relatively small when compared to my ever growing comic book collection that has not been bagged, tagged, and boarded. It’s all on my to do list, just like this Mini Retro Review of Red 5 Comics’ Free Comic Book Day Atomic Robo issue.

Depicting the adventures of the eponymous fictional character created by 8-Bit Theater writer Brian Clevinger and artist Scott Wegener, Atomic Robo began as a six issue mini-series published by Red 5 Comics starting in October 2007. It was nominated in the “Best Limited Series” category of the 2008 Eisner Awards. The first six issues of the series have been collected as Atomic Robo Volume 1: Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne. Atomic Robo Volume 2: Atomic Robo and the Dogs of War was released as a trade paperback in February 18, 2009. The third series Atomic Robo Volume 3: Atomic Robo and the Shadow From Beyond Time, is out now.

I didn’t realize my birthday and Christmas arrived on the same day this year, and I was even more surprised to discover that both of these major holidays fell in the last week of April. Someone must not have told Hallmark about the change, but at least Red 5 remembered to send a gift in the form of Atomic Robo: Shadow Beyond TIme #1.
Of all the issues coming out this week, Red 5 Comics is standing by with what I believe to be the most anticipated issue of the season – Atomic Robo: Shadow from Beyond Time. Atomic Robo is one of the best ongoing series out there, and if you haven’t picked up the adventures of this Tesla created automaton, now’s your chance.
