Many were saddened when Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Amanda Conner announced their departure from Power Gril, and were curious who would be replacing the team.  DC announced Judd Winick will be taking over the writing duties, with Sami Basri doing the art.

“It is with GREAT fear and excitement that Sami and I leap into this gig. Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, and Amanda Conner have bought an amazing, fresh, and inventive rebirth to this character. Our greatest challenge will be to remain faithful to what they’ve created and also take Power Girl to a new place. As far as the course that the story will take, I’ll be uncharacteristically forthcoming : The story is tied to JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST. Not CHAINED to it, but tied. Power Girl has a history with the JLI that will be explored. A lot.”

What does everyone think of the new team?  You’re probably very familiar with Winick’s writing, but if you want to see what Basri brings to the table, take the jump for the cover to Power Girl #13.

One of the biggest stories coming out of the weekend’s festivities at MegaCon has to be the new that Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner are leaving Power Girl with issue #12.  Since the beginning, this team has created a fun world for Power Girl to play in, and without these three in place, I don’t know how many people will continue with the series.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Palmiotti outlined the reason why all three were leaving the team

“But Amanda always said she could just commit to the book for a year, and as we got into the series we realized that we just couldn’t do the same type of book with another artist at this point and decided it was a good idea to leave with her and give another team a shot.”

I can understand not wanting to stick around if your artist stepped away from the project, but this is a real letdown.  DC said the replacement team would be announced this week.

Here’s your chance to shout out your thoughts on who you would like to see take over the series.  For artists, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Dodsons, and perhaps Bill Willingham as the writer.

Adriana Ferguson, long time friend of Major Spoilers, and co-host of the Super Future Friends podcast, dropped this lovely piece of Power Girl art via her Twitter feed (twitter.com/missveryvery), so why not feature it as our spotlight piece for the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day?

And yes, there isn’t supposed to be a boob window in the costume…

It’s the climax of the two part story arc that started on a distant planet, but ends up with Power Girl and Vartox getting hot and sweaty together, only then do they dine on a fine sausage before impregnating an entire planet.  All in a day’s work…

Ever since stumbling upon Chris Stevens’ artwork, I’ve been captivated with his use of mixed media to conjure up heroes and villains.  Today, it’s simple ink that is used to bring Power Girl to life.  Check out the fine strokes used to shade the figure, and notice how Power Girl’s biggest assets are downplayed in the image.

Power Girls Gone Wild

What is it about space girls dressed in skimpy attire that drives Earth men crazy?  If it is the latest issue of Power Girl, written by Palmiotti and Gray, with art by Amanda Conner, the answer should be self explanatory.

One of the things* I love about the current Power Girl series, is how much fun the team of Gray, Palmiotti, and Conner inject into the adventures of a heroine not quite of this world or dimension. The fourth installment of the series is no exception, as Power Girl and Terra check out a slasher flick, take on Godzilla, and have a run in with the boys from The Big Bang Theory.
