The 10th annual Baltimore Comic-Con took place October 10th and 11th at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland. This was my first year attending the show and also marked the first time I would be wearing my Supergirl outfit to a convention (my only other public appearance was at a grand opening of a comic store). I was also pretty excited about Major Spoilers “Spot the cosplayer” contest and wondered if anyone would recognize my boyfriend and I from the site.

Ahhh, conventions. The one place where comic fans, movie nuts, TV geeks, aspiring artists, cosplayers, actors, writers, pencilers, Warsians, Trekkies (Trekkers), Who…vians(?), Battlestar Galactites, and the 3 guys who remember Firefly (joking, of course) can all temporarily let down their “fanboy filters” and collectively geek out. For the past 5 years, I have made it a goal to attend my local convention of choice, Mid-Ohio Con. I have gone so far as to plan my entire year around this one magic weekend. This year seemed destined to be the best Con thus far. And you know what? It was. And I have the pictures to prove it!
While he was busy gathering signatures for the Major Spoilers Julian Challenge, Julian was able to snap some pictures from the show floor of cosplayers enjoying the festivities. Some great costumes, but I’m digging Discotrooper the best.
We want to see all the pictures you took at the San Diego Comic Con, and so does the rest of the world. Send ‘em our way, and we’ll get them posted.

For any Major Spoilerite going to the San Diego Comic Con – We Want Your Pictures!
If you take a lot of pictures and want to share them with the rest of the world, drop me a line, and we’ll get your pics up on the site. I’m most interested in cosplay pictures (good and bad, all shapes, and sizes), booth pictures, and celebrities. Who knows, maybe the best photographer who sends us a heap of pictures each day will win a prize or something.

Attendees at the New York Comic Con are home, and are finally getting around to posting their images from the show. Here’s another roundup of costumed show goers.
Pics are starting to come in, including this improtu photo of Nathan Fillion and Wonder Woman. Fillion is one of the voice actors for the upcoming Warner Bros. Wonder Woman direct to DVD movie.

I don’t cosplay for a reason – I don’t got the build for spandex,, although if you’ve seen me lately, I could probably pull of that late 50s, early 60s Lex Luthor look. That doesn’t stop all sorts of people from joining in the fun.

I never knew sneakers, berks and shorts were part of the official Starfleet uniform.
Do you cosplay? Send us pics of yourself all dolled up – I may have a contest forming.

If you want to see the San Diego Comic Convention before it became the crazy mad house it is today, check out the images by Alan Light, posted at his Flickr account. There are some very fun photos including King Kirby and Will Eisner eating dinner together, and this awesome cycle that would make the guys at Orange County Chopper hang their head in shame.

The best part about Free Comic Book Day is it has the potential to bring in so many new comic book readers. All across the country stores opened their doors to crowds who had never even stepped foot in a comic store before. According to Comic Book Ink in Tacoma, Washington this was the biggest year ever for the company.

Our good friend James from Collector’s Pair of Dice was able to head to Overland Park this past weekend to check out the KC Planet ComiCon. The event was well attended on Saturday and Sunday even with all of the rain that fell over the region. Special guests Jim Lee and David Prowse were able to stick around for both days to sign autographs and have their pictures taken with fans.
The panels were terrible soundwise. There were no mics for the panels I attended, and sitting on the second row I couldnt hear much except for the floor crowd. The panels were in the same large room as the show.
Sunday Clayburn Moore had a panel Sunday afternoon discussing sculpting of statues and action figures which the comicCon found a mic for (it needed a new battery though as the sound was distorted).
I wasn’t able to make it to the con this year for various reasons, but now I can live vicariously through the pictures James sent our way. Take the jump for the huge photo diary!
