This issue: Planet ComiCon, hot girls in wheelchairs, Batman or clones, or possibly both. Plus: Ye can’t mix Life and Anti-Life…And also Comics: The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Spoilerprise, it’s two year and counting mission, to review strange new comics, to seek out new stories and new takes on old stories. Show Notes after the Jump!

Good friend of the site, Scott Johnson from MyExtraLife.com has kicked off a brand new project. What’s better than 56 Geeks? How about 56 Zombies?
I got started on “56 Zombies” last night. Ultimately, this will be a complete poster sized photo print chock full of zombies of note. Keep your eye on this Flickr group, where I’ll post these as they are complete. Excited to get going with it.
As always, you need to follow Scott’s work and get ready to buy the big print when the project is finally complete.
Because even during the craziness that is the New York Comic Con, there is still fun to be had elsewhere.
Who knew it was that easy to make money sandwiches from my web doodles!
That Scott Johnson fellow is always quick with the humor.

This week being Comic-Con week, Scott Johnson over at My Extra Life has a superhero theme going. First it was his reaction to the new Batman costume, then Superman getting his punch spiked by ner’dowells, and now he has the next installment of his Fat Superheroes up for all to see.

In this bonus episode, Scott Johnson from My Extra Life (www.myextralife.com) and Stephen Schleicher review The Dark Knight movie from Warner Bros. and wrap up the Nerdtacular II event.
Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham’s new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker’s crimes grow more and more deadly.

Man What A Day! And it ain’t even over yet. The first half of the My Extra Life Nerdtacular II was a huge success. Everyone in the theater loved the Dark Knight. There were prizes given away, a fountain of glow sticks pouring down on the audience, a chance to meet people from all over North America, and even the Dark Knigh his bad self showed up.
And yes, some of them actually know about Major Spoilers.
So without further adieu, here’s a portion of the photos taken at today’s event.

Scott Johnson is up to his shenanigans again with another entry in his fat superhero line of drawings. Oh how I wish he would stop using my likeness for these…

Anyone who every read Spawn, or likes to get their hands on well crafted action figures, has heard of Todd McFarlane. But how many of you have had the opportunity to actually interview the man? Long time friend of Major Spoilers, and host of the ELR and The Instance podcasts, Scott Johnson (www.myextralife.com) got the word from Todd, and ended up interviewing him for both shows.
What I did not expect was to come away with a wealth of advice and life lessons as a cartoonist. Any of you that are interested in art, drawing, cartooning, whatever…you HAVE to listen to this interview. Hopefully you will pull out some of the same nuggets that I did…gaining a new perspective from someone who has done it and done it in spades is really really powerful for me. Did I mention that he was just about as nice a guest as you could ever hope for?
Congratulations Mr. Johnson on landing a terrific interview! For those of you who have not heard of ELR, check it out here. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Scott for about four years now, and have even had the pleasure of helping to sponsor his Nerdtacular event for two years now.
Now if Mr. McFarlane would like to appear on the Major Spoilers Podcast, he is welcome anytime… (cheesy grin).

For those of you who are interested in the Nerdtacular II event hosted by Scott Johnson at MyExtraLife (and sponsored by your very own Major Spoilers), you might be interested to know there are going to be some great prizes at the event. The biggest so far is a Nintendo Wii.
A lucky Nerdtacular attendee will receive one of these bad boys in a drawing before the movie. How cool is that? Too cool, that’s how cool. I wish I could give the donator more props but he want’s to remain anonymous.
Cool indeed. Keep a sharp eye out for the ticket give-away, they’ll go fast.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I appeared on the ExtraLife Radio podcast last night, where the regular crew of Scott, O, and Brian had me on the show to discuss superhero costumes that work and don’t work in both the comic pages and the real world.
Take a listen won’t you?
And don’t forget there will be a brand new Major Spoilers Podcast late Tuesday, early Wednesday.
Scott Johnson at My Extra Life, has been busy lately – what with his numerous podcasts, working a full time job, getting major pimpage from his 56 Geeks Project, and having a family of 5 to take care of – it’s amazing he has time to update his Fat Hero Project.

FERT!
Saturday was a busy weekend for comic fans. First it was Free Comic Book Day, then there was that whole Planet ComiCon dealie, but the big event had to be the Extra Life Nerdtacular Spider-Man III event sponsored in part by Major Spoilers.

Scott Johnson (above center) rented out some theatre space with over 90 fans showing up for this free showing. There he tossed out free comic books, T-shirts, and other spidey related freebies.

You can listen to a very exhausted Scott and wife discuss the event here.
I will have other updates on the site, including video of the event, but this is a great way to get out the info quick. And a fine diary entry in its own right. HUGE thanks again to MajorSpoilers and Beyondninja.com for co-sponsoring the event. Cant thank those guys enough!!
We should have more photos and a review of Spidey 3 from the man himself as soon as he catches up on his sleep, and check back often as there will be another Nerdtacular event next year, this time featuring a movie from the DC universe. I gotta tell you, you are witnessing the beginning of something HUGE! Each year this continues, it will only increase in size.

Scott’s son (above) is completely tuckered out after the day’s events.

Comcast has posted the final high quality Spider-Man III trailer we’ll see until the movie hits the silver screen in May. You are really going to want to check this trailer out, as it is all about Venom and how Eddie Brock becomes the third villain in the film. It looks awesome!

And don’t forget if you live in the Salt Lake City area and want to see Spider-Man III for free, be sure to sign up for the My Extra Life Spider-Man III event (sponsored by Major Spoilers).

My good friend Scott Johnson from MyExtraLife.com has taken his most recent strip and turned it into a little cartoon. Good Job Scott!

I got a huge kick out of Scott Johnson’s My Extra Life strip today. He’s been doing a series on Famous Last Words – those things that were proably the last thing said by a moron before getting what s/he deserves. The reason why I like Scott’s strip today is because I suggested it (GRIN).
We’ll have the transcript to an interview I did with Scott up real soon, so until then, keep visiting his site!
