Occasionally, the publishers will take a collection of sold out issues, and combine them into a mini-trade that fits the budget and makes it easy for readers to get their hands on a collection of books.  Such is the case with Ms. Marvel: War of the Marvels Must Have that includes Ms. Marvel #39-41.

The three issue mini-trade arrives August 19, 2009.

With Moonstone masquerading as the new Ms. Marvel in the Dark Avengers, where does that leave Carol Danvers?  Marvel has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Ms. Marvel #38, that arrives April 29, 2009.

When Carol Danvers meets up with the Dark Avengers it might be the beginning of the end as Marvel’s Ms. Marvel series becomes Dark Ms. Marvel with issue #38.

It all begins in this week’s Ms. Marvel #35, from the fan favorite team of writer Brian Reed and artist Patrick Olliffe, as Carol encounters Captain Marvel’s replacement—Noh-Varr, better known as Marvel Boy! As Carol’s past catches up with her and she meets Norman Osborn’s new Ms. Marvel (AKA the villainous Moonstone), two Ms. Marvels will clash…and Carol Danvers will fall!

Well, I guess you already know how the next three issues turn out.

If you have been listening to the Major Spoilers Podcast, you know I’m not a big Marvel reader, but I sure am excited about the Secret Invasion. The problem is, I didn’t get in on all the lead up issues so I might be missing out on some important plot points.

Take for example, Captain Marvel #4 and #5 and Ms. Marvel #25, which Marvel claims are “crucial tie-ins” to Skrullapalooza 2008. The good news is, instead of reprinting each issue individually, Marvel is collecting the three issues in a single reprint one-shot.

Who do you trust?

Is Carol Danvers really a Skrull? And if she is, is she here to help or to hurt?

“The Secret Invasion is pretty rapidly becoming less and less of a secret to both Captain and Ms. Marvel,” revealed Brian Reed. “Ms. Marvel #25 has it all. Secrets are revealed, someone is killed, almost nobody is who they seem, Carol Danvers saves Captain Marvel’s life, and a Skrull steals the Space Shuttle! We’re also excited to welcome the new art team of Adrianna Melo and Mariah Benes. They have walked onto this book and made it their own, creating absolutely spectacular pages of art. For this first issue, they’re joined by Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema, two great and classic Marvel artists, who help us revisit Carol’s days as a NASA security chief… and learn that this invasion started a long time before Carol Danvers was a super hero!”

Marvel Comics has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Ms. Marvel #25, that takes a look at Ms. Marvel’s involvement in the Secret Invasion.

I love Terry Dodson’s art, and was disappointed to see him leave Wonder Woman. But Good News Everyone! You can check out Dodson working his magic on the variant covers to Captain Marvel #4 and Ms. Marvel #25.

“We’re excited to offer fans these gorgeous variants by Terry Dodson to highlight two important Secret Invasion tie-ins,” said David Gabriel, Senior Vice-President of Sales & Circulation. “These are the moments fans have been waiting for as Secret Invasion kicks into high gear and takes over 2008.”

I know the variant cover craze should have died in the 90s, but if it has to be around, I’d rather look at these covers than anything else.

I’m sure it is not the case, but you might want to take caution when clicking the link, as there may be a potential spoiler in the cover (but probably not) (but then again maybe).

Ms. Marvel is adding two new members to her own team of superheroes.

“Brian Reed, Aaron Lopresti, Matt and Chris are once again bringing a classic Marvel villain back to haunt Ms. Marvel’s life, said series editor Stephen Wacker. Not to give anything away, but if you imagine what a Darth Geppetto might be like, you’ll have a good idea who wants to take Ms Marvel down for the count!”

Marvel has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of issue #18 that arrives in stores August 1.

I’ve got a question for you – how big of a player is Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Universe?

Ms. Marvel #15 sold out at Diamond, marking the third issue in a row the blond bombshell has taunted readers to try and find her in the stores. Making it even harder to find the latest issue, Marvel says at this time it has not plans to go back to press.

Marvel has sent us a sneak peek at issue #16, which arrives in stores on June 6, 2007. Go on, take a look, someone gets to tongue wrestle with Ms. Marvel.

Ms. Marvel #13 and #14 have both sold out at Diamond, according to Marvel Comics.

Tying into The Initiative, Mighty Avengers, Omega Flight and Civil War, MS. MARVEL is quickly becoming the place to go for stories that tie into the big picture of the Marvel U!

Issue #13 featured the debut of Aaron Lopresti as the new regular artist, as he joined writer Brian Reed and cover artist Greg Horn. At this time, Marvel has no plans to go back to press for issues #13 or #14, but the company has provided Major Spoilers with an early sneak peek of issue $15, scheduled to be in stores on May 2, 2007.
