Diamond Select Toys has announced the next wave of its Marvel Minimates line will be on the way soon, with all new characters, villains, and costumes.

Series 23 will contain several two-packs featuring characters taken from the past twenty years of Marvel history. Nova will be paired with Gamora, Cloak will team up with Dagger and the Spymaster will take on War Machine in this all-star lineup. The variant War Machine featuring Jim Rhodes will also be available as a limited chase figure.

With the ongoing success of the Amazing Spider-Man, it was only a matter of time before his villains got their due as Minimates! Series 24 will feature two-packs consisting of Spider-Man & Shocker, Cosmic Spider-Man & Transformation Venom, “Back in Black” Spider-Man & Kraven and the limited Tarantula variant. Additional pieces will also be included for transforming Transformation Venom into Eddie Brock and each Spider-Man into Peter Parker.

If you were/are worried that the Minimate line was getting thin to the point of being canceled, fear not, as DST has assured Major Spoilers there are going to be Minimates well into the future.

The Invaders are set to make an appearance at the San Diego Comic Con in a big way. Or rather, a small way, in the form of an exclusive set of Minimates.

Featuring the four most famous members of the all-star Invaders team, this set includes Steve Rogers as Captain America, James Buchanan Barnes as Bucky, Prince Namor as the Sub-Mariner and Jim Hammond as the original Human Torch! These legendary heroes were instrumental in the defeat of the Axis powers in WWII and will appear throughout 2008 in the aptly-titled Avengers/Invaders limited series.

I like that there are multiple costume and accessory items to configure your heroes the way you like.

Now I’m really sad I’m not going to the show this year. Oh well, there’s always eBay…

Diamond Select Toys has announced the next line of Minimate figures from Art Asylum features the original team (minus Thor) assembled for the first time.

The Avengers #1 Minimates box set contains Iron Man in his original gold armor, the winged Wasp, the diminutive Ant-Man and the Jack Kirby-style Incredible Hulk.

Diamond Select Toys has announced the next wave of Marvel Minimates will feature characters from Marvel’s Civil War.

Civil War Captain America – Sporting a battle-damaged look, Steve Rogers returns (briefly) for this Minimate version of Captain America complete with removable mask, gloves and even a shackle accessory to recreate his shocking assassination.

Civil War Iron Man – The first Iron Man Minimate to feature his upgraded Extremis armor, this version also includes additional body parts and armor to create your own “un-armored” Tony Stark!

Civil War Spider-Man – While it may not have lasted for long (not counting those new-fangled Scarlet Spiders), Spider-Man’s latest look is captured in two-inch scale for the first time, along with a removable mask and alternate Peter Parker mode!

Civil War Nitro – The mutant that started it all, now you can bring home the villainous Nitro to reenact all your favorite Civil War moments. Just try to keep the explosions to a minimum, okay?

These are New York Comic Con EXCLUSIVES, so best get your tickets for the show, that runs from April 18-20 in NYC.

If you’ve been collecting Minimates for a while, you more than likely already have an Iron Man figure or two (or three or four in my case).  Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum are releasing a new set based on the upcoming Iron Man movie.

The core assortment of Iron Man Movie Minimates will feature all-new armor designs as well as supporting characters and villains from the big-screen blockbuster.  Mark III Iron Man & Pepper Potts, Iron Monger & Tony Stark and Mark I Iron Man & Jim Rhodes will make up this wave along with a limited Mark I Iron Man & Mark II Iron Man variant two-pack.

In addition to the regular moving parts, this collection will feature plenty of removable armor so you can recreate your favorite scene from movie - or lose amongst your ever growing collection of crap collectibles.

The new (and final) season of Battlestar Galactica kicks off soon, and thankfully it looks like we’ll make it through the year without an updated Daggit.

I can understand fans wanting to pick up Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, DC and Marvel figures, but really, who would have guessed there would be enough people interested in Silence of the Lambs for Diamond Select Toys to launch a line of toys based on the movie?

All four Minimates feature all-new Art Asylum sculpts and accessories, including Hannibal’s removable straight jacket, Buffalo Bill’s signature Death’s Head Moth and Hannibal the Cannibal’s trademark mask and gurney!

Fortunately there is no Buffalo Bill hiding his package figure! If these are the same size as my DC Minimates, I look forward to pitting Batman against Hannibal and Booster Gold against Clarice…

Diamond Select Toys has unveiled the series 19 and 20 Marvel Mini-Mate collections that arrive in December. The collections include a couple long awaited characters including Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man, Mysterio, and Archangel.

BTTF.com has announced it has partnered with Diamond Select Toys to offer an exclusive limited-edition Back to the Future “Enchantment Under the Sea” Minimate two pack.

Diamond Select Toys has announced a huge Minimate-themed scavenger hunt for this year’s San Diego Comic Con called “The Hunt: A Minimate Adventure”.

Every team that signs up will receive an exclusive “Hunt” Minimate, T-shirt and list of objectives.� Instead of a hunter/gatherer quest, teams will be required to take digital pictures of their team’s Minimate in different situations, some of which are convention related.

If you or your team (but really just you, because you’ll stab your other teammates in the back at the last minute won’t you?) win the Grand Prize, you’ll be showered with every single Minimate released over the next year, digital cameras, iPod Shuffles, portable DVD players, gift certificates and more.

Sigh… yet another thing I’ll miss out on.� Having a s-load of Minimates would be a very cool thing to get over 12 months, especially when there are so many properties that get the Minimate treatment.

Waves 1 and 2 have already hit the marketplace and there are more DC MiniMates on the way. Wave 6, scheduled to ship in November, features Bizarro, Supergirl, S.T.R.I.P.E., Stargirl, Sgt. Rock and Blackhawk, Battle Damaged Wonder Woman, and Cheetah.

Yeah, like I really need more stuff taking up the precious space in my house, but I know I’ll be buying these.

Spider-Man 3 is just around the corner and that means toy tie-ins can’t be that far behind. One of the first available will be the Diamond Select Toys Spider-Man 3 Minimate 2 pack featuring the classic red and the new black costume.

Wizard World LA is March 16th, and for those of you who can’t attend, Diamond Select Toys let us know you will be able to buy directly from its site.

The rest of the Spider-Man 3 Minimates figures will be released this summer.

Diamond Select Toys has announced a new line of Minimates based on the Back to the Future Trilogy. Interestingly, the company has decided the first line of figures will be based on the second movie. Huh? Makes no sense what-so-ever, but then again, it’s been shown again and again that time travel messes with our reality.

The four figures will include Marty McFly, Doc Brown, Lorraine Baines, Biff Tannen, with chase figures of Marty and Lorraine in their Under the Sea outfits, and a Marty in his 50s clothing.� It’s unfortunate that Art Asylum and DST don’t go full out and build a DeLoreon ala the Batman C3 line that included complete playsets.

Even better than getting your hands on Doc Brown, Diamond Select Toys will also be making prop replicas including the Flux Capacitor.

The Minimates should be available in September.
