From the moment Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog hit the intardwebz, fans of musical comedies, with a superhero hook have been in seventh heaven. While there have been a couple of attempts to tell a Dr. Horrible origin story, the official take on the villain’s past can only be found in the pages of Dr. Horrible #1 from Dark Horse Comics.

Scorned and left for dead by the man she thought she loved, Nola Thomas returns to the flooded city of New Orleans a different woman than she was prior to the onslaught of Hurricane Katrina. What sequence of events could change a beautiful woman looking for love to a scarred woman looking for revenge?

Go to Hellboy

The official Hellboy Animated Series website has launched. The desitination is the offical site for the animated series, which will debut on the Cartoon Network and DVD in February. Currently the site has wallpaper and buddy icon images for download as well as a brief synopsis on each of the two animated movies (Blood and Iron, and Sword of Storms). Looks like the main characters will be Hellboy (naturally), Abe Sapien, and Liz Sherman. The art style and preview trailer they have on the site look really good and the storylines should be well received.

If there is a downside to what they have done so far, it is not in the Mignola style like the forth coming Amazing Screw-on Head for the Sci Fi channel. Head over to the Hellboy Animated site and decide for yourself.

“Head” on over to the SciFi Channel website and watch the commercial free unedited version of Mike Mignola’s The Amazing Screw-on Head. This 22 minute animation is a great combination of horror and comedy done in the incredible style Mignola made famous with his Hellboy series. If you like this kind of stuff and want to see more, make sure you fill out the online survey so SciFi will produce more of this stuff.
