Take the popular Marvel Zombies, mix them with classic cartoon theme songs of yester-year and you end up with this week’s Friday Sing-Along.
Take the jump for Part 2!
Or – “All Things Must Come To An End…”

So, another wave of zombie madness has fallen upon the Marvel Universe, and several of Marvel’s 70’s monster heroes have united to stop them. Of course, having inoculated themselves with the zombie virus, they could easily turn sides and eat each other, which leads to some uncomfortable conversations here and there. Zombie Deadpool is onboard, and things are about to wrap up the hard way. Taking bets now as to who will be standing at the end…
Or – “We Hold These Comics To Be Self-Evident…”

Today is American Independence Day, commonly referred to as July 4th, as it takes place on the 4th of July, hence the name, and that’s why the song is called Alice’s Restaurant… To all the faithful Spoilerites of the United States, Happy 4th of July. For those of you who are from elsewhere, sorry about all the hegemony and stuff. Either way, it’s time for another bout of our Rapid Fire Reviews, bite-sized chunks of comics that I either couldn’t write three paragraphs about, or ran out of time to cover. Give us your tired, your poorly drawn, your huddled masses of comics, yearning to be bagged in mylar…
Or – “OH, GNAAAAAAAAAAARRRRLY!!”

It’s so easy to blow up your problems, it’s so easy to play up your breakdown. It’s so easy to fly through a window, it’s so easy to fool with the sound. Life’s the same, I’m moving in stereo… Life’s the same, except for my shoes. Life’s the same, you’re shakin’ like tremolo. Life’s the same, it’s all inside you. Life’s the same, I’m moving in stereo… Life’s the same, except for my shoes. Life’s the same, you’re shakin’ like tremolo. Life’s the same, it’s all inside you!

Or – “Not To Be Confused With Marvel Zombies 1 #4, or Marvel Zombies 3 #2…”

The first Marvel Zombies miniseries was a revelation, Dead Days was excellent, and the Army of Darkness crossover weirdly interesting. The Fantastic Four issues were disappointing, and Marvel Zombies 2 ended up being a huge blow to the success of the franchise, making it all seem lame and silly, an effect which I reasoned came from moving the characters to the Marvel Universe proper, and removing all chance that the monsters would win again. Marvel Zombies 3, however, managed to recapture some of the fun, the drama, and the actual horror of seeing your heroes biting and slashing and consuming human flesh. With this installment, the dark creatures from beyond are about to meet the dark creatures within the Marvel Universe which does beg a question… Someone once said that if you fight monsters, you risk becoming a monsters yourself. But what happens if you START OUT as a monster?

This week finds Marvel releasing the fourth issue of the third installment of the Marvel Zombies saga. This series finds the undead heroes and villains finding a gateway to the Marvel 616 universe, and if I were to guess, nothing will ever be the same…again!
Take the jump for a sneak peek of the issue directly from the House of Ideas.
Or – “How Aaron Got His Groove Back…”

The strip-mining of Marvel’s 2006 surprise monster hit (pun fully intended) continues apace, with the dead folks engineering several brilliant strokes, even finding a way to crack the dimensional barrier into the regular Marvel Universe (which, now that we think of it, may be the first real proof that the 616 and Ultimate Universes actually HAVE the ability to crossover, even through an intermediary) and finding ways around the endless hunger within ‘em. Of course, they’re still $&@%ing flesh-eating monsters, so they got that going for ‘em. Which is nice…
Or – “I Honestly Have NO Idea When These Books Came Out…”

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends… much like the harassment you get when you wear the pizza suit and dance on the corner in front of a Cici’s. Even when you’re cutting back on comics purchases, like I have, the urge to review more comics than there is time to review them is strong. Makes me with there were 8 days a week, actually. Thus, we at Stately Spoilers Manor have created this handy, dandy method of touching upon things going on at Penny Lane, down the long and winding road, even across the universe. So why don’t we do it in the road, throw some Norwegian wood on the fire, cause it’s a helter skelter ride through a day in the life of comics!

Marvel has announced the first issue of the third installment of the Marvel Zombies saga has sold out at the distributor level (although, as always, there may still be copies at your local comic shop). The “high demand” means a new printing for readers, with, yes, a variant cover.

Do we really need another zombie tale set in the Marvel Universe? According to Fred Van Lente, the answer is yes. In the next installment, one of the zombies escapes from zombie world and stumbles into Marvel 616 territory, thus making Marvel Zombies an in continuity title.
“Marvel Zombies 3” will focus on a different group of zombies than Kirkman and Phillips’ books. “This is partly because ‘MZ3’ is set in a very specific period of ‘MZ’ continuity,” Van Lente explained. “For fear of giving away too much, I’m going to tell you when, exactly. But let’s just say the pursuit of sweet, sweet human flesh makes for some odd allies.”
The four issue mini-series will debut in October. I don’t know about you, but the zombie genre has overstayed its welcome.

Several years ago I had a freak out, and stopped eating meat, stopped with the caffeine, and processed sugars. There are a couple of good things about avoiding those things. First there’s that whole healthier living thing, and second, I got to eat all the veggie pizza, been burritos, and tofurkey sandwiches that I wanted (really tofurkey isn’t as bad as it sounds). The toughest part about my sudden conversion to semi-vegetarianism (I still ate eggs and cheese), was the first two weeks. Every Big Mac commercial, every KFC ad, even the smell of steak was enough to nearly drive me out of my mind. Then after that passed, all was right with the world. My head cleared, I had more energy, and I lost a ton of weight. After a while, that Quarter Pounder with Cheese ad did nothing for me, it even made me a little disgusted (like that is anything new). What’s this have to do with Marvel Zombies 2 #1? Well, what is a zombie to do when it’s eaten all the flesh in the universe?
