Or – “Named For The Roman God Martius, God Of War…”
Not to be confused with famed Martian general Marvin, whose computers are so complex and naughty… Traditionally, this month has signaled the beginning of the season of military campaigns, and also the time when college basketball generals lead their troops unto the field of battle. For me, working in small-market TV for as long as I did, it’s a month which signals mighty pains in the butt, which explains why this is technically the FEBRUARY edition of RFR. We apologize for the inconvenience… Better to just press on.
You’re going to have to be over 18, or at least know how to type in a birthday that makes you appear to be over 18, to see the latest Kick-Ass movie trailer.

It’s a red-band trailer, so you’ll have to take the jump to see it.
But only if you are over 18…
I think I like the other promo posters better, but having everything exploding outward looks nice, too.

Yahoo! Movies has the latest Kick-Ass trailer available. The movie continues to look kick-ass, and I really want to see it, although with my busy work and family schedule, I have about as much chance of seeing Kick-Ass as I do seeing Avatar before it leaves theaters. I wonder if this movie would be appropriate to take my 2-year-old to?*
*Yes, I am joking about taking The Boy to the movie.
We linked to the Hit Girl trailer last week, but now you don’t have to push your way through some age verification B.S. thanks to YouTube.
Be warned though, this is the Red Band trailer, which means there is a lot of cursing, blood, violence, and the C-Word. This definitely NOT SAFE FOR WORK! You’ve been warned.
Good lord that was a lot of fighty-fighty!
Here’s the follow up poster to last week’s Big Daddy reveal for the upcoming Kick-Ass movie.

The movie arrives April 16, 2010, and co-stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

UGO.com has snagged the first full shot of Big Daddy from the upcoming Kick-Ass movie.

More promotional posters for the upcoming Kick-Ass movie are popping up all over the Intardwebz. The latest features Chris Mintz-Plasse as The Red Mist.
I’ve only read a few issues of the series, but from what I’ve seen in the comic and in the trailer, I can’t wait to see what Matthew Vaugh does with Mark Millar’s comic book.
Lionsgate released a new Kick-Ass poster for the world to take in and examine. The bloodied face of Aaron Johnson should give audiences a hint that this is going to be a blood and splatter fest when it comes to kicking…er..um… ass.
It’s a day for video on the Good Ol’ Major Spoilers, and we’re adding another to the list with the trailer for Kick-Ass. The music and fast editing pushes the movie higher on my must see list, but I wonder how all the graphic violence is going to play out?

IGN has posted the character posters for the upcoming Mark Millar Kick-Ass movie, and they look pretty… well, Kick-Ass!
Dave Lizewski doesn’t have superpowers, isn’t particularly strong or smart, and isn’t extraordinary in any way… aside from his desire to be a hero. Donning a scuba suit, a ski mask, and a pair of clubs, Dave hits the underworld hard in his new persona of Kick-Ass. Though not as hard — at first anyway — as they hit him when he’s severely beaten and hospitalized as a result of his first street fight. No one said being a hero was going to be easy…
When all four of the posters are joined together, they do indeed spell out Kick-Ass, which should be interesting to see on the wall in the more conservative areas of the country. What am I saying, this movie probably won’t be picked up by those theater chains at all.
The movie is scheduled to open April 16, 2010.
Pencil in April 16, 2010 as a day you’re going to be busy. That’s the date Lionsgate is planning on releasing Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass movie adaptation.
Lionsgate acquired North American distrib rights to “Kick-Ass” shortly after Comic-Con. Pic, starring Nicolas Cage and Aaron Johnson, is based on the bestselling comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. Storyline revolves around a young boy who inspires a subculture of wannabe superheroes who have no powers.
I’m sure after the government takes all my money on the 15th, I’ll be ready to kick some ass of my own, so this looks like a perfect release (and possible viral marketing campaign) for the film.
Word out of H’wood this morning is that Lionsgate Entertainment has picked up the domestic distribution rights to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass movie adaptation. The Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. movie adaptation is still on track for a 2010 release to theaters.
