Comic Book Resources received a tip that “Blythe Metz was asked by “interested parties” at the studio to create a short clip showcasing her martial arts abilities.” A link to this MySpace page revealed a slew of photos used to promote the actress in consideration for the role.

The costume is obviously a temporary one, and while Blythe kind of looks the part, I’m not totally convinced she’s right. The fight scene movie on the page looks okay, but nothing spectacular. On the other hand, J-Lo was once in consideration waaaay back in 2001. This movie is taking forever to get off the ground, and until they find someone perfect for the part, they need to keep looking.
What do you think?

Marvel Comics has sent us a sneak peek of the variant cover to Astonishing X-Men #19. This issue marks the beginning of the end of the Joss Whedon and John Cassaday arc. Each issue of the final arc will feature 50/50 covers by John Cassady, with each cover featuring an iconic shot of a different team member.
Take the jump for the cover shot and a description of the issue.
Runaways fans have been in a panic since Brian K. Vaughan announced last week that he and artist Adrian Alphona would be leaving the title they started after issue #24. But great news has arrived as Vaughan has helped handpick his successor, the superstar writer behind the best-selling Astonishing X-Men – Joss Whedon.
Joss Whedon has updated his blog with info on the status of the Wonder Woman script and the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer, due out from Dark Horse Comics sometime next year.
And since I haven’t posted (anything real) in some time let me bring y’all up to speed. The Brothers Warner HAVE read Wondy Gal, and are arranging a meeting to tell me that it is a perfect crystalline gem and I must not change a word, nay, not a syllable. I’m certain that’s how it will go. I’m pounding away on X-men #18 and Buffy #2 and having a blast. Like a “close the blast doors” sized blast, especialy after I saw my first page of Georges Jeanty’s Buffy art. That cute little sketch on his website? No, no, silly british man. The real thing is SO deeply cherry. It makes the fun I’m having revisiting these characters increase tenfold.
