If you missed the premiere of the Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars last Friday, don’t worry, you can purchase each and every episode at the iTunes Store. Debuting on the popular music, video, and application service the day after new episodes air, fans can download individual episodes for $1.99, or get a season pass for $39.99 for all 22 half-hour episodes.
Starting with “Rising Malevolence,” the series’ second episode, StarWars.com will offer a regular podcast – one that combines news and information with the creativity of Lucasfilm. It will be available both at StarWars.com and at iTunes. At both locations, the podcast will be free for fans who want to learn more about the secrets of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.
Moreover, StarWars.com will offer an exclusive, entirely new online graphic novel, with new insights into the CLONE WARS galaxy. Written by Star Wars expert Pablo Hidalgo, its weekly installments will feature four different artists, each of whom illustrates a new “chapter.” Each of the 23 “chapters” will serve as an introduction to that week’s episode of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.
If you don’t want to pay for content that is essentially free to begin with, both Cartoon Network and StarWars.com will stream episodes one week after the first run. The first episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins streaming on Friday October 10, 2008.
So NBC made a huge to-do over Heroes being made available on iTunes for free beginning September 1. The day came and went, and still no word on where the free show was.
So here is the low down on this “wonderfully” thought out campaign by NBC to get people to watch their show. In order to see the Heroes pilot, you must first go to Regal Cinemas and obtain a code card. It really isn’t clear if the code card is free, or if you have to purchase a movie ticket to obtain one. Word on some message boards is it is free, while others are somewhat secretive retarded on the matter.
You then take this 12 digit code and enter it in the Redeem section of iTunes, upon which you will be given permission to download the pilot.
Okay…so what if you don’t have a Regal Cinema in your town, next town over, or the next town after that? You are screwed that’s what. In Kansas there isn’t a single Regal Cinema listed until you hit Kansas City, MO. Nebraska, North and South Dakota, you’re screwed as well. If you don’t have Regal, you might try AMC or Cinemark, which are also part of the promotion. And what if you don’t have the urge/need/money/desire to go to the movie theatre to begin with?
Hey NBC, if you really want people to watch your show, and you claim it is going to be a free download, then don’t make your audience jump through hoops to do it!
Morons…F’ing morons all of ‘em…

So what would have been a better solution you ask? Let’s see, comic fans are probably a huge target, why not ship the code in issues of comic books? No, wait… that is too easy. What about running the code in local newspapers? No, that probably is too obvious. Oh wait, how about making the damn show available for free without screwing potential fans?
Forget trying to do something the legal way. If you are still dying to see Heroes you can find the show all over the place via bitTorrent.
Okay, so Aquaman has been around for quite some time – you know, he can talk to fishes and stuff, and was in that classic cartoon show from the 70s and 80s. But no one really gave the brotha any love. This left the underwater hero as the butt of many jokes. Most recently the television series “Entourage” has Vincent Chase (played by Adrian Grenier) staring in the James Cameron (played by James Cameron) directed movie which became a huge blockbuster in the show. So much so that it even prompted a real life ad in Variety. And let’s not forget “A.C.” (played by Justin Hartley) appearing in The WB’s “Smallville”, which prompted a spin-off Aquaman pilot that was eventually dropped from the CW lineup. Since its debut on iTunes this week, the pilot has been the most purchased television show for download.
All this buzz about Aquaman now has many thinking Hollywood might actually be able to pull off an Aquaman movie. To make this strange tale of life imitating art even more bizarre, the talent agent at the center of this latest gossip is none other than Ari Emanuel – the real life counterpart to Entourage’s Ari Gold (played by Jeremy Piven).
Even though everything is still in the advanced advanced advanced rumor stage, the buzz is McG may be called up to direct this DC Comics controlled property. Of course this could all be wild speculation on the part of L.A. Times writer John Horn who broke the story today.
Several people involved in the preliminary discussions about a feature film said untangling the movie rights could prove difficult. A DC Comics spokesman did not return phone and e-mail messages. Emanuel was on a family vacation and could not be reached for comment. – John Horn in his L.A. Times article.
As we predicted earlier this week ,the success of Aquaman on iTunes would have everyone talking about breathing life into the written off character.

Just checked out the iTunes TV Show directory, and the pilot episode of Aquaman is sitting proudly at number one. The Warner show was cancelled when the CW network decided not to include it in their new network lineup. You can purchase the show for a mere $1.99, and at the rate the show has been selling, Warner Bros. will easily recoup the money spent on the pilot, and A.C. will remain at the top of the charts.

The torpeadoed Aquaman series may not be coming to a channel near you (ever), but kudos to the WB who was wise enough to try and recoup their losses on the pilot by offering the show for download via the iTunes music store. This 41 minute episode can be purchase for a mere $1.99.
If sales of this pilot go over well, could this be the message to Warner Bros. to bring the show back into production for television audiences? Or could this merely be an attempt for the studios to make money off of something they have already written off? Or could this be yet another attempt to prove that no one wants to download less than quality videos via Bittorrent?
