Or – “Teenage Angst, Part Two.”

One of the most wonderful things about Bob Kirkman’s work on Invincible are the supporting characters, each of whom has depth and a life of their own, and most of whom have amazing named. Dupli-Kate. Shrinking Ray. Atom Eve. And the absolute, bull moose gonzo whopper most amazing name of all time: REX. SPLODE! When I get old, I want to roll around in a motorized wheelchaire and just yell “REX SPLODE!” at all the young whippersnappers with their baggy pants and their tiny little i-Pods and their whatever it is they do when I’m old…

Leave it up to a fan to ask Ryan Ottley for a commission of Invincible and Superboy Prime fighting. It’s a cool concept and one we are happy to life for our own nefarious deeds. So, we ask you, the Legion of Major Spoilerites, in a battle, who would win, Invincible or Superboy Prime?
It’s a fight to the finish, if they ate their spinach!
Maybe not so invincible after all

Image Comics made a couple of announcements over the last couple of days, so once again, here’s your rapid-fire roundup of news from the company. For fans, take the jump to see what’s ahead for Invincible, especially with the announcement that Atom Eve isn’t dead, but is very naked.
Well, we all saw that comin’

For anyone who can pick up and read Previews, I don’t think it came as any surprise that this issue featured the death of a character a lot of readers, including the title character himself, had fallen in love with. Unlike other comic book deaths, this one was turned out to be extremely brutal, and the method in how it happened makes this a huge milestone for the series.
Press Release

In an unprecedented move, writer Robert Kirkman and illustrator Ryan Ottley have made a cryptic, semi-confident promise that INVINCIBLE #63 might be kind of a big deal for reasons they wouldn’t say and plan to back it up with a special Wednesday shipment direct to comic shops!

What’s missing from some of the super hero comics out there? A huge smack down drag out fight that spans an entire issue? No, as there have been a few titles recently that feature this kind of action (Power Girl). A villain that is much stronger than the hero? Again, it’s been done in other titles. The notion that the hero may finally be out-powered with his life on the line? It’s a comic book, and when the title character is fighting it out for his life, there is little chance he’s going to die, but in the case of Invincible #62, one gets the feeling that Mark Grayson is in real jeopardy.

I’m particularly keen in seeing what happens with Invincible, especially since the solicitations for future issues indicate someone close to Mark dies.
