Or – “Where’s My Santa On The Shaver, Dammit?”

Sometimes the holidays turn into a blur of food and family and spectacle, like the Roman Empire right before the Dark Ages. When that happens, it’s good to have Rapid Fire Reviews: Reading the comics, so you don’t have to!
Or – “The Lady Or The Tiger? Sometimes You Get Both…”

The Iron Fist may have been the first of the Immortal Weapons to show his face, but he’s certainly not the last. What’s even more amazing is that each of their stories has been as interesting as Danny Rand’s. Fat Cobra’s tragedy, the Bride of Nine Spiders’ horror, even Dog Brother #1’s folk tale have all been interesting in their own right. Now the spotlight turns to the beautiful, yet deadly, Tiger’s Beautiful Daughter… Will the loveliest of the Immortal Weapons keep the streak going?
Or – “The Leader Of The Pack… And Now He’s Gone.”

When the other celestial cities debuted a couple of years ago in Iron Fist, I doubted that their champions could really hold a candle to the might of the Iron Fist. I figured that we’d see the brief Mortal Kombat competition end with Danny Rand’s ascendence and that would be it. I was pleasantly surprised by the brilliance of Fat Cobra, and each issue of this series has been interesting to varying degrees. So, how does Dog Brother #1 size up?
Or – “Most People Don’t Know That His Full Name Is Manuel Labór.”

So, I have completed my daily labors, overseeing the dozen fellers and gals what make up the current workgroup to call themselves Team RamRod (“See, you’re Arkot Ramathorn… Ram. And I’m Rodney Farva… Rod. Team RamRod!”) and I am preparing to have some spaghetti and hang out with friends, but first I wanted to catch up with some of the many titles that I’ve neglected over the busy last days of August…
RAPID-FIRE REVIEW TIME!
Or – “Bring Me My Victory Wenches!!”

In a perfect world, you’d be looking at the face on all our coins…

This week on the Major Spoilers Podcast, the Major Spoilers Crew is taking a peek at the first arc of Ed Brubaker’s Immortal Iron Fist from Marvel Comics.
Amazon Description
Many years ago, in the mystical city of Kun’ Lun, young Danny Rand stared at a suit behind glass – the garb of the “Immortal Iron Fist” – and knew that he was destined to wear it. But where did this costume come from? Why did it wait for Danny all those years like a shadow of his future? The answer to those questions will stun both him and his readers, as Danny Rand leaps from the pages of his breakout hit in Daredevil to his own history-spanning kung-fu epic that will shatter every perception of what it means to be the Immortal Iron Fist! Brought to you by top-ten writer Ed Brubaker and breakout talent Matt Fraction (Punisher War Journal), with action-packed art by David Aja (Daredevil, Giant-Size Wolverine). Collects Immortal Iron Fist #1-6.

Or – “We Hold These Comics To Be Self-Evident…”

Today is American Independence Day, commonly referred to as July 4th, as it takes place on the 4th of July, hence the name, and that’s why the song is called Alice’s Restaurant… To all the faithful Spoilerites of the United States, Happy 4th of July. For those of you who are from elsewhere, sorry about all the hegemony and stuff. Either way, it’s time for another bout of our Rapid Fire Reviews, bite-sized chunks of comics that I either couldn’t write three paragraphs about, or ran out of time to cover. Give us your tired, your poorly drawn, your huddled masses of comics, yearning to be bagged in mylar…
