We all know Hulk likes to smash, but you may not have caught the little tid-bit in the Marvel second-quarter earnings report that listed Hulk Smash as the next direct-to-DVD animated project from the company.
Doctor Strange is scheduled for an August 14, 2007 release, while Teen Avengers (I’m lost on that one too) is targeted for July 2008. Hulk Smash should arrive in October 2008. This seems a bit odd because one would think Marvel would want to capitalize on the Hulk success as soon as possible following the Incredible Hulk movie.

Captain Marvel gets a new title with Brian Reed writing and Lee Weeks doing the art work. It’s not one of those stories where Mar-vel comes back from the dead, rather a time-travel story where the Captain comes to grips with his death.
More highlights from the Mondo Marvel Panel after the jump.

Looks like Tim Blake Nelson will be playing Samuel Sterns (aka The Leader) in the upcoming The Incredible Hulk movie. If Nelson’s face looks familiar, he was one of the convicts in “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”, and appeared in Syriana.
Sterns is one of the Hulk’s major antagonists, a menial worker in a chemical research plant who is bombarded with gamma radiation. He emerges from his accident not only green-skinned but also superintelligent, with an oversized brain.

Shooting begins August 7 and the movie is expected to be in theaters June 13, 2008.

Or - “These Guys Sure Do Like To Introduce Themselves A Lot…”

I have to hand it to Green Scar and his band of Merry Somethings-That-Resemble-Men… They’ve got the dramatic entrances down pat, and their tough-guy dialogue is top-notch. I’m a little confused by the timelines of the Marvel Universe right now, but thankfully, all we really need to know is that the beatdown of Iron Man came last issue, and Hercules and his amazing friends have not yet joined Hulk in his quest for vengeance. The Avengers are preparing to engage, but the Warbound have superior strength, vast determination, and no mercy whatsoever…
