Tickets can now be purchased for the 2009 Baltimore Comic-Con in person or online. Tickets to the Baltimore Comic-Con, taking place on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th at the Baltimore Convention Center, will be available in person at our store, in person at shows around the country, and on-line.

The 2009 Harvey Awards Nominees have been announced with the release of the final ballot, presented by the Executive Committees of the Harvey Awards and the Baltimore Comic-Con. Named in honor of the late Harvey Kurtzman, one of the industry’s most innovative talents, the Harvey Awards recognize outstanding work in comics and sequential art. They will be presented October 10, 2009 in Baltimore, MD, in conjunction with the Baltimore Comic-Con.

BALTIMORE, MD (Feb. 17, 2009) — The Executive Committees of the Harvey Awards and the Baltimore Comic-Con are proud to present the official Nomination Ballot for this year’s Harvey Awards. Named in honor of the late Harvey Kurtzman, one of the industry’s most innovative talents, the Harvey Awards recognize outstanding work in comics and sequential art.
Ballots can be downloaded from HarveyAwards.org and completed forms can be e-mailed to harveyballots@hotmail.com. Ballots are due for submission by Friday, March 27th.
In addition, Scott Kurtz has been announced as the Master of Ceremonies for the Harvey Awards dinner and ceremony.
“Scott has been a part of the Harvey Awards since they have been in Baltimore. As both a nominee and presenter, Scott brought his unique sense of humor and fun to the ceremony. We are all looking forward to him bringing the same energy to the stage as the host of the show,” said Marc Nathan, promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con.

Last night at the Baltimore Comic-Con, the Harvey Awards – the industry’s oldest and most respected – were handed out for outstanding achievement in 20 different categories. It’s the morning after (or afternoon depending on what time zone you are in), and Major Spoilers has the rundown of the winners.
The big winners of the night came from DC Comics, with All Star Superman bringing in three awards and The Perry Bible Fellowship bringing in two. Congrats go out to all the winners!

The 2007 Award Winners were announced last night in Baltimore. What’s great about the Harvey’s is they tend to favor a wide variety of creators and companies, instead of one company sweeping the awards. Major Spoilers wishes to congratulate all of the winner.
