Keeping with the convention theme comes Tim Seeley’s Hack/Slash #25 San Diego Comic Con variant.
Gee golly, that’s a lot of blood
Tim Seely’s Hack/Slash hits issue 20 and through it all, Cassie Hack and her sidekick Vlad have literally hacked and slashed their way from one end of the country to the next as the duo (and friends) take down slashers in some really gruesome ways. With the trouble Devil’s Due had with the Reanimator story arc, I’m glad the series was able to make it through the storm, but what of the beloved goth girl and her monster friend?
It’s the battle of the century as Cassie Hack and the Halloween Man go at it in a crossover event for the Holiday.

When it rains, it pours. First DC had printing issues with All-Star Batman and Robn, and now Devil’s Due Publishing has issues with two upcoming issues of Hack/Slash featuring Herbert West: Re-Animator. The company sent a press release, but to be honest, I’ve read it a couple of times and it still doesn’t make sense. It appears Brian Yuzna, the producer and owner of the Re-Animator film franchise, has no problem with what DDP is doing, but some new company called Re-Animator LLC claims it has the rights to the Re-Animator logo and is putting the pressure on Devil’s Due to not release the two issues.
DDP says they aren’t going to distribute the two issues through Diamond Comic Distributors, but instead will solicate the issues themselves, which pretty much means it will be next to impossible to find the issues anywhere but at the online store.

For the last six months or so, I’ve been reading the collected trades of Hack/Slash – what’s not to like? It has a goth girl in a miniskirt making out with girls, and fighting serial killers with her deformed giant of a friend. With the upswing in horror movies being produced, I was wondering how long it would take Hack/Slash to get bought out; turns out it wasn’t that long.
Writer Justin Marks has been hired to adapt the series into movie form that will be produced by Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. Marks has turned in drafts for other pop culture movies including Voltron: Defender of the Universe, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and that Green Arrow Supermax movie, which really isn’t a Green Arrow movie.
Who do you want to see play the role? Megan Fox perhaps?
Hot on the heals of the Transformers movie, is the rumor Megan Fox is interested in the role of Cassie Hack in the Hask/Slash movie directed by Todd Lincoln.
In every slasher movie, there’s one girl who makes it all the way to the end. She’s the survivor…the last girl. Meet Cassie Hack, the lone survivor of an attack by a vicious slasher called The Lunch Lady. Now Cassie, along with her monstrous partner, Vlad, travel the country, hunting down other slashers before they can leave a trail of blood and terror.
Looks like a match made in heaven (so to speak). What are your thoughts? Does Megan have the acting chops to play in the movie?
