Halloween may have been last week, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.  This week we’re getting you to sing-along to Hoobastank’s cover of Ghostbusters, one of those classic songs that pretty much gets everyone in the car to sing along.  Unless you are my two-year-old son, in which case he cries until everyone stops.

You’ve quietly been collecting the Art Asylum Ghostbuster Minimates, but have been at a loss as to how to play/display the toys in a way that pays homage to the popular 25 year-old movie franchise.  Thanks to Millionaire Playboy, you now have the solution in the form of paper craft backgrounds.  Each set can be downloaded in PDF format, printed out, and folded so you can relive your favorite scenes from the movie.

Cool!

The first issue of IDW Publishing’s Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression found the Ghostbusters team scattered across time and space.  With Dr. Venkman secured from the old west, he, and the mysterious hot blond now find themselves in the time of King Arthur ready to bring a big can of whoop-ass to the ghost dragons of ye’ olde age.

Two movies, an animated series, and a plethora of games spread out over 25 years would lead one to believe that the Ghostbusters franchise is healthy and strong. There’s a third movie in the works, and the silver anniversary is upon us, and interest in the property is once again at a high point. With the release of Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression #1, IDW Publishing once again taps into a popular intellectual property and delivers a story that attempts to reignite the ectoplasm fever in the four color world.

Those who troll around eBay are sure to find some spectacular pop culture items if one looks long enough, and has deep enough pockets.  While a working replica of Tom Servo may only set you back a couple hundred bucks, you’re going to need a lot more than $45,000 to pick up the original car used in the Ghostbusters movie.

There is not a lot that can be said about this car once you see it you know what it is. This car was owned by Universal Studios as you can see by the copy of the title. This is the real Universal car not a copy. The car runs and drives good it has new tires on it know. The car is in a car Museum right now, when it goes on tour it draws a VERY VERY LARGE crowd.

Surely in this economy, people have to be beating down the door for this car.  If you want to attract a crowd at your next convention (and make some money on the side) this may not be a bad deal.  The auction has unfortunately ended, but there is a phone number to call the seller.  Perhaps you can work out a deal.

With the San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, some of the weird from Hollywood is starting to surge to the forefront, as we present another installment of the Rapid Roundup of Tinsel Town Rumors.  Some might be true, some might be outright lies, but they are all entertaining… to someone… maybe not you… maybe that cute girl on the bus would be interested in your thoughts on the subject… or maybe not.  I don’t think looking at her and saying, “So what do you think about Cameron Diaz and the Green Hornet?” will get a dialogue started.

I’m finding the best way to start my morning is to take a peek under the hood of Hollywood and find out what is percolating.   Today, it’s a dose of Spider-Man 4, Star Trek, Ghostbuster, and Dragonball news.  Yup, Dragonball, with a bit of A-Team news to boot.

Those who plan on getting the Ghostbusters video game might want to upgrade to the Slimer Edition, that features among other things, a set of Ghostbusters Minimates.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game, based on the smash hit motion picture franchise and featuring a completely new story, is coming to six game systems in 2009. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary celebration of the film’s original theatrical release, the game reunites original cast members to recapture the unique blend of humour and fright that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation. Remember, don’t cross the streams. It could end all life as we know it!

Instead of running down to the local GameStop, the Slimer Edition is an Amazon exclusive.  I really don’t have an interest in paying $110 for a video game, but those cool-ass Ghostbusters Minimates just might have me jump.
