Dynamite Entertainment and Marvel Comics have announced veteran Marvel Zombie artists Sean Philips and Fernando Blanco are teaming up with regular series artist Fabiano Neves to complete Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness #4 and #5.
In a prepared statement Dynamite said,”Fans are getting the Triple Crown winner of artists with these last two issues of Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. Teaming up Sean Phillips and Fernando Blanco with Fabiano Neves for the big climax is like… well, it’s like having the Marvel Zombies and Ash in the same series! Sean’s pencils certainly know their way around the brutal world of Marvel Zombies, and AOD fans went crazy for Fernando’s work on the final issues of AOD (and the final days of Ash), so to have them both work on Ash’s afterlife adventures is simply ‘Dynamite’! Of course, regular series artist Fabiano Neves and writer John Layman will continue their incredible work on Earth-2149, keeping Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness the pure brain-craving, chainsaw-slashing action and excitement that it has been from the very beginning.”
Major Spoilers has a sneak peek of issue #4 after the jump!

Dyanamite Entertainment has sent Major Spoilers the covers and solicitation information for Highlander #10, which kicks off a new story arc to celebrate the title’s first year.
In a prepared statement, Highlander writer, Brandon Jerwa said, “We’re going to see the comics debut of some familiar Immortal faces and there’s a surprising change of setting on tap as well. Duncan MacLeod fans will get what they’ve been craving, but that doesn’t mean cousin Connor is left out in the cold. I’ve been determined to make Highlander an accessible book for even a casual reader, but I will drop the hint that a viewing of Highlander: Endgame between issues 9 and 10 only enhances the experience. I could tell you more, but then I’d have to chop your head off…”
Hahahaha - chop your head off. Get it? Because that is the only way to kill an immortal? Well anyway, if a series can make it to the one year mark and still garner enough readers, then it is probably a pretty good story. Highlander #5 made the Top 300 list in March coming in at #147 with 10,971 issues sold.
Take the jump for the covers!

Matthew will be happy to know Jane looks to be doing a lot better in Painkiller Jane #2 shipping in June with covers by Amanda Conner and Alecia Rodriguez.
About the release, Dynamite stated, “Painkiller Jane #0 started with Jane getting a tattoo (you’ve really got to see the issue to believe it!) and ended with in a fiery finale. Jane returns to the land of the living in issue #1 and was not happy (getting blown up tends to put her in a bad mood), but that didn’t stop her from tackling a terrorist, saving a train full of New Yorkers and falling head first into a dangerous and mysterious conspiracy. By the end of the issue #1, the action really got hot for Jane (if you read it, you know what we mean) and continues to do so right through issue #2. So far, Painkiller Jane has been a great series- Guns! Explosions! Hard-hitting, in-your-face action! This series has it all! And to top it all off, you can catch Painkiller Jane in her Sci Fi television series every Friday night.”
Take the jump for a peek at the two covers.

Dynamite Entertainment has announced Savage Tales #1 and Raise the Dead #1 have both sold out. The company has no plans to reprint either issue, but I would check with your local shop to see if there are any copies left.
In a prepared press release Dynamite stated, “Once again, we would like to send our appreciation to the fans and retailers for the support and dedication they have shown for Dynamite. We do our best to provide a quality product in the most fun and interactive way possible, always keeping the fans and retailers in mind through our various contests and message boards. Of course, we also have to send a great big thank you to the creative teams involved with making Savage Tales and Raise the Dead successes. The creative teams for both titles, the writers, artists, colorists and cover artists, really came together to produce over the top stories with “dynamite” artwork!”
Savage Tales is a new anthology series from Dynamite featuring a rotating cast of characters from the savage and brutal worlds of Red Sonja and the Hunter, Cthulhu and the Old Ones, Atlantis and more-all by an array of the industries top creators.
Raise The Dead is an all-new original horror series from writers Leah Moore and John Reppion with art by Dynamite’s latest up and coming artistic sensation Hugo Petrus! The story is a fast paced tale that hits the ground running in a grim world on the brink of being overrun by the living dead. Dynamite Entertainment has released all the covers for the upcoming issues of Dark Xena.
In a prepared statement Dynamite spokesperson said, “We know Xena fans expect a certain ‘sense of adventure’ when it comes to the Warrior Princess and her legendary journeys, and so far, considering the overwhelming response to our first Xena series ‘Contest of Pantheons’, it’s quite apparent that writer John Layman knows how to work that ‘sense’ flawlessly! Now, with the release of the new series,, John is tying the Dynamite comic book series to regular continuity by explaining how Gabrielle made a deal with an elder god in order to bring her friend back from the dead and the consequences of her doing so– and it’s all done with the pulse-pounding tradition that has made Xena into one of the most appealing action heroines of all time!”Popularity and praise of Dynamite’s series has been outstanding:From Jerome Maida’s article “Xena Returns in New comic Series” in the Philadelphia Daily News, “That sound you hear is a familiar ‘Yi-Yi-Yi-Yi-Yi’ battle cry. Yes, thanks to Dynamite Entertainment, ‘Xena’ is back in her own comic book series and, based on the first four issues, they have knocked it out of the park. This series will succeed where previous attempts to adapt the popular character to comics have failed.”

Fans have really reacted in a positive manner over the Arthur Suydam cover to Savage Tales #1. You know, this one…

It is such a great cover that Dynamite Entertainment will be releasing an 18 x 24 inch poster this July.
“When I was working on this cover, I wanted to capture a moment of the calm following the storm. It’s like ‘what’s this pretty flower doing in the middle of this barren scene?’ What immediately sprung to mind was to create a painting that felt like Maxfield Parrish meets Robert E. Howard,” said Suydam.
While I like the idea of comic cover posters, this one is so amazing, I would much rather see it as a life size poster. I can imagine the fanboy reaction if such a thing were allowed.
The poster will sell for $7.99.
