Fans have really reacted in a positive manner over the Arthur Suydam cover to Savage Tales #1. You know, this one…

It is such a great cover that Dynamite Entertainment will be releasing an 18 x 24 inch poster this July.
“When I was working on this cover, I wanted to capture a moment of the calm following the storm. It’s like ‘what’s this pretty flower doing in the middle of this barren scene?’ What immediately sprung to mind was to create a painting that felt like Maxfield Parrish meets Robert E. Howard,” said Suydam.
While I like the idea of comic cover posters, this one is so amazing, I would much rather see it as a life size poster. I can imagine the fanboy reaction if such a thing were allowed.
The poster will sell for $7.99.

Don Chin and Dynamite Entertainment have announced an agreement whereby the comic books and collectibles featuring the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters are headed your way.
The Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters, written and created by Don Chin was originally illustrated by Parsonavich and later by Sam Kieth, as well as initially published by Eclipse Comics. The series chronicled the adventures of four Hamsters named Chuck, Bruce, Jackie and Clint, who were sent into space by the United Nations in an attempt to obliterate a huge blob of radioactive space jell-o that threatened to engulf the earth, wiping out all life as we know it. The Hamsters sacrificed their lives by self-destructing their rocket ship in the heart of the gelatinous mass, which sent them hurtling back to earth to the Himalayas covered with the strange glowing goo. There they were found by a wandering Buddhist Monk who sees their arrival as an answer to ancient prophecy–so they are trained in the ways of the martial arts to one day rid the world of corruption.
Creator Don Chin stated: “I’m very excited to be entering into this relationship with Dynamite Entertainment, as they have a proven reputation for great art and stories and have shown a keen eye for turning licensed properties into hot comic book titles such as Army of Darkness, Battlestar Galactica and Red Sonja. I have long wanted to re-introduce the “Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters” to a new generation of fans who might be looking for a very funny, action-packed series and to the original fans who have kept asking me when they were going to return out of hibernation. With so many 1980’s retro-titles being sought after for comics and movies (Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc.), it seemed like a natural fit to bring the Black Belt Hamsters back”

Zorro Productions and Dynamite Entertainment will be working together to bring the adventures of Zorro to the comic books once again.
According to Dynamite, not only will the adventures include the masked hero, but will also jump into the vast cannon to include familiar characters like Lady Rawhide. This is yet another franchise character Dynamite has been able to nab to add to its growing library of titles.
Dynamite stated, “To have the opportunity to add another powerful, iconic character to our line up is an absolute honor. Taking into consideration the awesome response we’ve received from our revival of other existing characters and creating high profile comics fans enjoy, this is definitely exciting news. We’re speaking with creative teams now, and will make announcements in the near future. Zorro is noted is as one of the earliest ancestors of the modern masked marvels in comics and movies today, and we’re certain fans are truly going to enjoy delving into the adventures of one the very first super heroes.”
Dynamite will release more info on the creative team and scheduling in the coming weeks.

BTW: If you care more for Lady Rawhide than Zorro, you’ll be happy to know the deal allows Dynamite to produce a stand alone Lady Rawhide series as well.

Dynamite Entertainment and Marvel Comics have announced one of the strangest crossovers I’ve seen since Ash made the leap to Zombieland. The next major team up will feature Spider-Man and Red Sonja, something that hasn’t happened since 1979.
The Spider-Man/Red Sonja team up will be a five issue limited series as the duo battle the devious duo of Kulan Gath and Venom. Michael Avon Oeming will write, with Mel Rubi on art with Brian Buccellato coloring. Covers will be done by *sigh* Michael Turner.
Dynamite’s Nick Barrucci stated, “With this crossover we’re touching on some of the greatest comic stories ever told, and it’s an absolute honor. Having the opportunity to team Red Sonja with one of the world’s most iconic characters, Spider-Man, is also a credit to Red Sonja’s regular creative team of Oeming, Rubi and Buccellato, who have handled the She-Devil’s sword-swinging adventures every bit as masterfully as the legendary creators before them. And of course, we’re very pleased to be working with our good friends at Marvel once more. This is the team up no one ever thought they would see again- with that in mind, we are working closely with Marvel to ensure this crossover has real meaning to the fans, as well as the continuity of both franchises.”
