The show has been off the air for a couple of years, but that hasn’t stopped Mattel from continuing to crank out action figures based on the series. The next in line to get the ‘tooned up treatment is none other than the Doom Patrol, and the figures look mighty sweet.
Perhaps not as well-known as the Justice League, the Doom Patrol stands ready to defend the world from those who would destroy it, and now, for the first time ever, it’s offered in the fan-favorite JLU style! This 4-pack includes the essential characters Negative Man, Robot Man, Elasti-Girl, and Mento, all making their debut in action figure form. Available only at MattyCollector.com!
The set is not available for pre-order yet, but it does look like you can order up to 10 sets, when they are available for sale. At $30.00 a set, you can bet there will be those buying their full allotment to sell on eBay.
Or – “I Decided To Trick Or Treat With My Kid Instead… Sorry.”

The MUSIC MEEEISSSSTERRRR! Sing the song that the world wants to heeeear! Man, I’ve had that stuck in my head for WEEKS, now. This particular RFR was meant to go up last week, just in time for the annual festival of half-price chocolate, but various things conspired to keep me from completing it until today. For those of you who can’t get enough comic review goodness, I’ve got the cowbell to slake your fever, and it’s time to ask ourselves, baby, what’s the word? In the words of the great philosopher Aloysius Bundy: “Let’s ROCK.”
Or – “Hey, Vent! You Ready To Move Out?”

When you read monthly comic books the way that I do, often times you get to the point where you feel like you know what’s coming, when every title feels like you’ve read it before. On the other hand, you have the odd experience where you read a title or issues that you KNOW you’ve read before, but you cannot for the life of you remember how it’s supposed to end. With over a hundred monthly titles coming out, sometimes you need to play catchup, you need to go where everybody knows your name to the land of the Rapid Fire Revieeeeewwww!
There are a couple more Mattel/DC Comics action figure line items hitting the site today, and next up is the Doom Patrol getting the Justice League Unlimited treatment.
The team goes on sale November 16, 2009. Take the jump for a look at each of the figures.

The Doom Patrol are dispatched on another perilous mission which not only has some unexpected repercussions, but also results in the brutal demise of a team member. After returning to their home base the group are reluctantly subjected to a mission debriefing from a priest who in his own personal history has dealt with some serious challenges of his own.
The Metal Men have also been sent out to deal with a deadly threat but even though they do eventually triumph over their adversary, it is only with the usual group bickering that always occurs between these elemental characters. Meanwhile Doctor Magnus is having to deal with a delegation of his irate neighbours on Kanigher Street who are not happy with a living chemistry set setting down in their community.
Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Adam Turner to write the screenplay for DC Comics Doom Patrol. Warner Bros. will be making the announcement this week at the San Diego Comic Con.
Remnicent of the X-Men and teamed like the Justice League, The Doom Patrol uses their freakish abilities to stop evil doers. The film will be produced by Akiva Goldsman via Weed Road Pictures.
