The four part Magnum Opus storyline from Marvel Comics will jump between Deadpool and Thunderbolts, and promises (according to Marvel) to be the fight of 2009!  The company has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Deadpool #8 that kicks off the battle royale that arrives March 4, 2009.

Deadpool has been kicking some Skrully butt for three issue now, and for the third time in a row, the title has sold out at the distributor level.  Marvel has promised it will go back to press with a new printing that will arrive November 19, 2008.

Marvel has announced Deadpool #2 and Hulk #6 have both sold out at the distributor level – that’s through Diamond Comic Distributors for those not in the know.  While Marvel will send Deadpool #2 back to press, Hulk #6 will only be seen again in the pages of Hulk Vol. 1: Red Hulk Premiere HC.

Marvel Comics is really pushing its online comic initiative.  Opening up the vaults is one way to get subscribers on board, but even better is giving away digital comics for free.  The company has announced readers can head over to the Marvel site and read the Deadpool Saga free of charge on the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited site.

Learn how Wade got his healing ability and became the best mercenary in the Marvel U. Did he have any love interests? Of course he did, he’s Deadpool for crying out loud! But to find out who, and the answers to many other questions.

This is all part of the build up for the September release of the new Deadpool series written by Daniel Way and illustrated by Paco Medina.

deadpool.gifAccording to Ain’t It Cool News, Deadpool will be one of the central figures for the Marvel Studios Wolverine movie, and Ryan Reynolds will be playing him.

This one’s supposed to be a secret, but cat’s out of the bag now, Marvel. And I have to say… I think it sounds like fun. I know this has been a character you guys have been developing for years now (hell, I think I pitched a DEADPOOL film back in 2001), and Reynolds is absolutely the right guy for the job.

Other rumors floating around hint that many Marvel villains will be making cameos in the film.
