Or – “More Returns That Make Me (And Probably Only Me) Happy…”

Ever since that last Wolverine movie, Wade Wilson has been all over the place in the Marvel Universe, teaming up with Spider-Man, the X-Men, Ghost Rider, even the artist formerly known as U.S. 1. (I have a complete run of that thing, actually, and while it’s freaky and wrong, it’s also quite entertaining and has a character called “Poppa Wheelie” in it. Now that I mention it, he’s ripe for a Hero History.) This month, the Merc With A Mouth enters another territory that is familiar to me as his travels lead him in a direction called It, The Living Colossus… I, for one, am super-psyched!
In case you missed it last night, here’s what you missed.

There’s been lot of talk across the Intardwebz in regards to the Siege #3 Deadpool variant deal Marvel is offering in exchange for 50 DC covers, and now that the variant cover has been revealed, I wonder if everyone thinks the deal is a good one or not.

The Deadpool spinoff has found a pair of writers to pen the big screen adaptation of the comic book character. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired by 20th Century Fox to spin an adventure of the Merc with a Mouth. If the names sound familiar, it’s because the writing duo were the minds behind Zombieland, which might fit nicely with the tone of Deadpool.
Currently there is no timetable for the movie, however if the writers can get a final draft of the script ready for summer, it will be a great time to get a really buff Ryan Reynolds into the costume.

I haven’t looked at the numbers, or the press releases, but according to Marvel, every issue of Deadpool has sold out at the distributor level, including the most recent Deadpool #17.
This red-hot issue features the conclusion of Deadpool’s first issue as a member of the X-Men and you know it can’t turn out well for Cyclops!
Deadpool #17 is headed back to the printer, and the variant edition featuring cover artwork by Paco Medina, is scheduled to be in stores on December 23, 2009.
Marvel announced its Deadpool Team-Up #899 sold out at the distributor level and is headed back to press for a second printing.

The Fred Van Lente reprint arrives December 23, 2009.
Gotta love the Hulk #16 Deadpool McGuinness Variant cover.
Hulk #16 arrives on October 28, 2009, and features a cover price of $3.99.
Deadpool here with a super duper announcement that will rock the very foundation of your house and quite possibly your neighbor’s – Deadpool #900 is almost upon us! Say it with me guys and gals: Nine. Hundred. Issues. That means that people have printed this perfect figure in at least nine hundred different comic books (That’s like 1,099,561 kills!)! Never before have so many acclaimed creators risked life and limb to portray one (Just One!) character in such a mega-magnacious story! Star creators like: Joe Kelly, Rob Liefeld, Jason Aaron, Kyle Baker, Mike Benson, Shawn Crystal, Fred Van Lente, Damian Scott, Charlie Huston, Sanford Greene, Duane Swierczynski, and Dalibor Talijic all chomped at the bit to handle yours truly (I have like fifty fruit baskets sitting at home). So if you crave (hunger, desire?) 104 pages of pure unadulterated Deadly Deadpool Dynamite, go buy this book!
Marvel urges every single retailer that sells any kind of literature to check their orders on Deadpool #900, as it promises to be the single greatest comic book ever created in the history of everything! The Dawn of Deadpool is upon you ladies and gentleman: embrace the Wade!
No animals were harmed during the making of Deadpool #900!

There’s so much movie news coming out of H’wood this morning, that we’re bringing back the Rapid Roundup of Hollywood News. Some of it is clearly in the rumor category, while other entries are confirmed fact – we’ll leave it up to you to decide which is fact, and which is fan boy fantasy.

Rob Liefeld got all Twittery last night, spreading news and information about upcoming movie projects which may or may not feature Cable.
“Great Deadpool movie meeting! Lauren Schuler Donner and her team are headed in the right direction!”
“Deadpool movie checklist- DP in costume-check! Breaking 4th wall-check! Loads of killing-double check!”
“Deadpool movie- YES! Ryan Reynolds\ is on board!!!”
“Also excited to discuss possibilities of Cable in future X-films!!!”
Yeah, Cable in the next X-franchise film should be interesting, although I’m more interested in seeing X-Men: First Class first.
Marvel has announced that Deadpool #14 and #15 and Invincible Iron Man #17 have sold out at the distributor level and are headed back to press.
It is I, the whimsical Wade Wilson, wishing you a wonderful warning (That’s not too much alliteration is it?) – Buy Deadpool #900, with seven all new stories, my first team up and more! It seems like only yesterday I was starring in Deadpool #13, but here I am, at the apex of comic glory! This issue is so big only the most hardcore Deadhead (Isn’t that the name for fans of the Grateful – Shut Up!) creators could handle it! In the first of seven stories, “Pinky Swear”, is presented by Joe Kelly and Rob Liefeld. “One Down” is brought to you by Charlie Huston and Kyle Baker and “Close Encounters” is created by Jason Aaron and Rick Staggs. Mike Benson and Damian Scott deliver “Shrunken Master” while Fred Van Lente and Dalibor Talijic present “Silent But Deadly.” “What Happens in Vegas” is told by Duane Swierczysnki (Is that how you spell it?) and Shawn Crystal. And lastly, we have “Great Balls of Thunder on the Deep Blue Sea” by Victor Gischler and Sanford Greene Watch as your favorite crimson comedian faces off against probe-happy aliens (They didn’t even offer us a drink!) and killer mimes (Did their guns have silencers? Bwahaha)! But the fun doesn’t stop there, I also meet a shrink that’s crazier than me (You’re crazy?) and partake in a heinous assassination (My favorite type!)! Bear witness as I wade through (Get it?) the trials and tribulations that every average psychopathic regenerating cancer-ridden red spandex-wearing mercenary assassin has to deal with! And look at that cover by Dave Johnson (I know, it’s so awesome, eh?)—and he’s doing a variant cover too!
Marvel and I have agreed that if retailers don’t check their orders on Deadpool, I will be sad. You wouldn’t like me when I’m sad (No more of my issues that sell out every single time ever!)! Guns (Guns!), chicken, aliens, mimes, battery cables, and guns (Guns!), ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? Buy Deadpool #900, starring me, the Merc with a Mouth, immediately when it comes out (Twice!)!
Apparently because Marvel believes you demanded it – Deadpool Team UP #899 features Fred Van Lente, Dalibor Talajic and Humbero Ramos teaming up on the titles come November.
