If someone can get us more pictures of the Hello Kitty Star Wars cosplayers at the San Diego Comic Con, we would be in your debt.
On Friday, July 17th I traveled to the studio of WMMR, home of Philadelphia’s number one morning radio show, Preston and Steve. Contrary to popular belief, I do not live in the city of Brotherly Love and had to drive a good distance to get there (crashing at my boyfriend’s place the night before helped save on travel time). This marked my second trip to the studio; the first taking place back in May when Steve Morrison granted me an interview (along with co-host Preston Elliot) to discuss issue two of their humorous comic book, the League of Extraordinarily Stupid Gentlemen.
Those of you who are planning to dress up as your favorite Marvel character and you’re heading to San Diego Comic-Con, you might want to enter the Marvel Costume Contest.
If you have the heroic (or villainous) qualities to participate in this exciting contest, make sure to be at the Marvel Booth (#2429) by 3:30 PM to register! All you need to do is wear a costume of your favorite Marvel character (but keep it family friendly!) and you could win the Grand Prize of a Marvel Omnibus signed by Stan Lee! All entrants may also be featured in a gallery on Marvel.Com! The winner will be determined by you, the fans, as you vote on who you want to be crowned this year’s winner!
The event takes place on Friday July 24, at 4:00 PM.
Victoria, the latest member of the Major Spoilers family, wanted to let everyone know you can see her live on Friday morning at 6:45 EDT at the WMMR website’s VIP Lounge. She’s going to be modeling some of her costumes for the viewers.
Or you can take the jump and check out a few more pics after the jump!

This issue: There’s a new member in the Major Spoilers Family, and in this issue, listeners get to know Victoria, and talk about cosplay.

Attendees at the New York Comic Con are home, and are finally getting around to posting their images from the show. Here’s another roundup of costumed show goers.
What kind of comic convention would it be if there weren’t throngs of people parading around dressed as their favorite comic book and pop culture characters? Take the jump for a peak at some of the best and worst from the show. We’ll let you decide which is which.

It was a very close contest, with Bizarro and Two-Face coming in at a tie by the end of public voting on Tuesday. The tie was decided in a manner that Two-Face would have appreciated – by a coin toss. Matthew and I called it in the air, and by a vote of 419 to 418, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the winner of the 2nd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest…after the jump.

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for; the finalists for the Major Spoilers 2nd Annual Costume Contest. Major Spoilers own Rodrigo and Stephen analyzed the entries, and by the end of the day, discovered they were tied on several entrants. Instead of five finalists, Major Spoilers is cranking the number up to seven. Seven awesome costumes for you to vote on.
UPDATE: WINNER ANNOUNCED
Take the jump to see the finalists.

Oh boy, did we get a lot of people entering the second annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest. There were over 50 entries from 20 entrants (yes, some people entered multiple times). Personally, I think all those who entered the contest deserve kudos for taking the time to make their costume and sending it out for the world to see. You can tell some of the entrants spent a great deal of time on their costumes, and really get into their work.
Without further ado, take the jump to see all the entrants for this year’s contest.
UPDATE: Voting is now open!

Three days in a row of cool fall-like weather, reminded me it is time to open the 2nd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest! We want you to help us celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday by having you – yes you – send up pictures of your bad self dressed up as your favorite comic book hero (or villain or side-kick, you get the idea). The best costume will not only be hailed as the Grand Prize Winner in Major Spoilers’ Costume Contest you’ll also win the Hellboy Animated Statue and a copy of the Hellboy Library Edition Vol 1: Seed of Destruction.

Here’s what you have to do:
Send three to four pictures (different poses/angles) of yourself in your favorite superhero costume (plus one sans costume) to us by October 25, 2008. Make sure you include your name, address, and the character you are supposed to be. The Major Spoilers crew, will narrow the list to five contestants (oh lord, let us have more than five entries), and readers will then vote on their favorite. The winner will then be announced October 31st.
Send your pictures to contest@majorspoilers.com
