You know those guys that hang out on Hollywood Boulevard in superhero costumes so you can take pictures? Turns out there is a documentary about them, directed by Matt Ogens.

Pic chronicles the alternately poignant and amusing paths of the struggling actors who pay the bills by playing superheroes on Hollywood Boulevard. Central characters are Batman, Superman, the Hulk and Wonder Woman.

Now there’s a crossover you probably didn’t expect to see…

The film will screen at AFI in October.

Project: Rooftop is now accepting entries for the second annual costume contest: Fights, Flights & Tights 2.

Pretty easy to enter, make your costume, take several pics, get them to the company before October 21st. The best entries get featured on the site, and the winner will receive an original sketch of their design by Dean Trippe.

Sounds cool to me, and gives me an idea or two for something here at Major Spoilers.

More info can be found at the Project: Rooftop site.

Why you shouldn’t cosplay

Friday, August 24th, 2007--by Stephen Schleicher

I don’t cosplay for a reason - I don’t got the build for spandex,, although if you’ve seen me lately, I could probably pull of that late 50s, early 60s Lex Luthor look.  That doesn’t stop all sorts of people from joining in the fun.

I never knew sneakers, berks and shorts were part of the official Starfleet uniform.

Do you cosplay?  Send us pics of yourself all dolled up - I may have a contest forming.

The other day I asked readers to share their 2007 San Diego Comic-con pics, and sure enough they are starting to trickle in. One of the highlights we’ve received so far is from Jamie who just so happened to be part of the Josie and the Pussycat Doll Review team at this years Masquerade.

The team won Honorable Mention in the Creativity category. Thanks for sharing Jamie, who by the way is dolled up in the Black Cat costume.

If you have photos from the con, and want to share, put them in an e-mail and send them my way.

For now, take a gander at these images James snapped during the con’s Masquerade.

Gorgeous Gamer Girls Prepare for San Diego

Friday, July 20th, 2007--by Stephen Schleicher

blackcat.jpg

You might not believe it, but there are girls who are into comics, gaming, and pop culture. Many of them are quite attractive, and don’t mind cosplaying it up for fun.

The women of the Girl Gaming Network are heading out to San Diego to cover the event, and you might even catch them in costume.

If you think Ruby Rocket is looking good as Black Cat, head over to the GGL to see who else the girls might be dressing up as.
