After a week of voting by You, the Legion of faithful Spoilerites, the winner to the third annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest is announced. Congratulations go out to Devin Harrigan who entered his Atomic Robo creation. Devin not only wins the bragging rights to count himself as a champion at cosplay, but he also picks up Iron Man wall-art from Fat Head.com.

With close to 90 entries in this year’s Major Spoilers Costume Contest, it was really tough narrowing it down to five finalists. The Major Spoilers Crew poured over the entries for hours making our individual selections, and when the nominations were put in the hopper, we found our top five. Now, it’s up to you, the Legion of Major Spoilerites to cast the deciding vote. Who will be named the winner of the 2009 Major Spoilers Annual Costume Contest? We had a huge response to this year’s Major Spoilers Costume Contest. We received close to 90 entries this year, making this the largest contest we’ve had to date. Over the next couple of days we will narrow these entries down to the Top 5, and then it will be your turn to vote for the grand prize winner!

Time is running out for you to enter the 3rd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest. Entries are due October 25, 2009, and that is just around the corner.
Here’s what you have to do:
Send three to four pictures (different poses/angles) of yourself in your favorite superhero costume (plus one sans costume) to us by October 25, 2009. Make sure you include your name, address, and the character you are supposed to be. The Major Spoilers crew, will narrow the list to five contestants (oh lord, let us have more than five entries), and readers will then vote on their favorite. The winner will then be announced October 31st.

This past weekend at the Baltimore Comic Con, attendees were challenged to find Major Spoilers’ own Victoria as she and her boyfriend Brian strolled through the convention center having fun. Those who had their picture taken with the duo, and sent them to us, were entered into a chance to win an Atomic Robo statue. Yesterday, we collected the entries, and drew the name, with Paul Lombard coming out on top as the winner.
Congratulations Paul! And thanks to everyone who entered the contest. For those who didn’t, there is still a chance for you to win even more prizes in the 3rd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest. Entries are due October 25, so don’t wait!
Who’s going to the Baltimore Comic Convention this weekend (October 10th and 11th, at the Baltimore Convention Center)? If you are going on Saturday, pay special attention to all the cosplayers in attendance. If you happen to see the “super” Major Spoilers Victoria at the show, sporting her blond locks and Supergirl get up, you just might be able to win an Atomic Robo statue.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Look for Victoria and her BF Brian at the Baltimore Comic Con.
- Get your picture taken with the two of them.
- Send your picture to contest@majorspoilers.com by October 17, 2009, and you’ll be entered to win this most awesome Atomic Robo statue!
- The Major Spoilers Crew will draw the winner on October 20, 2009 during the recording of the Major Spoilers Podcast.

We’re getting a late start this year, but better late than never – It’s the 2009 Major Spoilers Costume Contest! We want you to help us celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday by having you – yes you – send us pictures of your bad self dressed up as your favorite comic book hero (or villain or side-kick, you get the idea). The best costume will not only be hailed as the Grand Prize Winner in Major Spoilers’ Costume Contest you’ll also win your choice of a superhero wall graphic from Fat Head (www.fathead.com).

As announced at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, LIBERTY MEADOWS creator Frank Cho and THE ‘NAM writer Doug Murray are teaming up with Newsarama to seek out new talent for their upcoming Image Comics project, 50-GIRLS-50!
“When creating 50-GIRLS-50, Doug and I knew we wanted to go with a very different look than we’ve had on any previous collaboration,” Cho said. “Given the immense wealth of talent online, we decided an open call would be the best way to find someone. We’re open to seeing all styles for our prospective illustrator and look forward to the results.”
Some weeks, the Major Spoilers Art Appreciation Moment of the Day follows a theme, while other weeks, it is completely random. Last week (August 16- 21, 2009) we ran art that indeed did have a theme, we just didn’t tell you what it was.
Now is your chance to guess to win the first three volumes of the Tank Girl trade paperbacks. Go back and give a look-see at the entries from last week (August 16 – 21, 2009), and see if you can figure out the theme.
