This past weekend at the Boston Comic-Con, Cliff Chiang was there sketching like a mad man. He’s posted a few of his sketches on this website, but we couldn’t pass up his version of Buckaroo Banzai.
Had a great time in Boston this past weekend, courtesy of Nick Kanieff, Colin Solan, and everyone else in the Boston Comic-Con crew. Thank you! They are is growing by leaps and bounds, and I’m very excited for their next show in April 2010, with some guys named Jim Lee and Mike Mignola.
Jet car on the cover, no jet car inside – portents of doom?

Buckaroo Banzai is closing in on the world crime league, unfortunately, he and the rest of the Hong Kong Cavaliers will have to go through an army of bionic powered people and genetically modified rats to do it. Sounds like another day in the life of the hard rocking scientist.

This issue: Rodrigo talks up Legend of the Seeker, while Stephen celebrates the 25th annyversary of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension.

I give big kudos to Moonstone Books for continuing to bring the adventures of Buckaroo Banzai to the four color world, where fans can lap up the fun and kick assishness that is Team Banzai. It’s just too bad the company keeps crapping his origin time, and time again.
The Wild Asses of the Kush

I wasn’t really thrilled with the last Buckaroo Banzai outing from Moonstone Books, but the glutton for punishment that I am over my slavish devotion to the hard rockin’ scientist and his Hong Kong Cavaliers had me sitting down and checking out the simply titled Wild Asses of the Kush. No, it’s not a story about a drug trip on some of the best weed you’ve ever inhaled, but it is full of more ass jokes than you can shake a stick at.

In this special episode (recorded December 16, 2008), the Major Spoilers Crew of Matthew, Rodrigo, and Stephen discuss Buckaroo Banzai, Doctor Who’s Daughter, and the web comics each are reading.

Across the 7th Dimension?

Wow, I can’t believe it was August when I last looked upon the Buckaroo Banzai prequel from Moonstone Books. In that time, I pretty much forget everything that happened in the first issue. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it gave me time to forget about the slips in continuity that comes from someone who hasn’t watched the source material 100,000 times since 1984. Instead of a four or five issue mini-series, the prequel is wrapped up in two. Too much? Not enough? Or have the halcyon days of the Hong Kong Cavaliers disappeared for good?

One of my most favorite movies of all time is Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension followed by Big Trouble in Little China, Army of Darkness, They Live – yeah I rock…
Moonstone Books has sent Major Spoilers information about the Buckaroo Banzai Return of the Screw trade paperback coming in September. Thanks to Diamond putting all the minor publishers in the back of Previews, I wasn’t able to get every issue of the series when it first came out, but the trade will take care of that.
More info and the complete cover after the jump.
Moonstone has sent us an advanced look at the new Buckaroo Banzai poster that will kick off the next mini-series.
Painter extraordinaire Dave Dorman lends his considerable talents to portray Dr. Banzai in this ORIGINAL specially commissioned piece, so now, the rest of the world can feel that inner calm and confidence that comes from hanging out with Buck!
