For 133 issue, Brian Michael Bendis has consistently cranked out Spider-Man stories that allowed many non-Marvel readers to get into one of the biggest and most recognized heroes in the world. Sadly, we’ve reached the end of the Ultimate Spider-Man series – at least in this incarnation, and it doesn’t look good for the wall crawler.

Fans of Brian Michael Bendis, who own an Xbox, have probably played Halo. Bendis penned Halo Uprising, and now Marvel is bringing the series to the hardcover collection for those who like waiting for the trade.
As the Master Chief battles to defend Earth from the Covenant, forces of good and evil will be drawn to the mysterious Key. Who—or what—holds the secret to the one thing that could change the balance of interstellar power?

The carnage resulting from Magneto’s attack on the world continues to tear New York City apart as hero and civilian alike try and make sense of what is going on. Brian Michael Bendis continues to maim and kill those Ultimate characters we’ve come to enjoy, and while there may be some gut reaction from readers over these changes, no one is more affected than Peter Parker. At least he makes a friend.

Marvel has announced it is going back to press with Dark Avengers #2.
Spanning from the terror of Dark Reign, multiple Eisner award winner Brian Michael Bendis and acclaimed artist Mike Deodato deliver a brand new Avengers series with a team of the most dangerous characters ever assembled! This isn’t your mom and dad’s Avengers, True Believers!
The new printing will feature interior art by Mike Deodato on the cover.
The reprint is scheduled to be in stores on March 25, 2009, and features a cover price of $3.99.

Brian Michael Bendis has confirmed that the FX network is actively developing a pilot based on the BMB/Michael Avon Oeming Powers series.
“‘Powers’ is in active development as a pilot at FX,” Bendis told MTV. “I just handed in a draft to the network and we’re getting our notes from the network as soon as this thing is over. So next week I’ll get the notes, and as long as they don’t involve sock puppets and some sort of orgy scene that I’m not interested in, then hopefully it will go in the right direction.”
While active development is a long way from post production, it is good a major cable network is looking at a superhero title for its next gritty crime drama series.
Even though FX hasn’t asked for your input, who would you like to see in the title roles?
Despite the Ultimatum banner, there’s no Ultimatum story here (sorta)

If readers were wondering how Ultimate Spider-Man would make the transition from the Return of Gwen Stacy story last issue, into the Ultimatum story line this issue, fear not, as nothing that takes place in Ultimatum appears in this issue. Instead, this issue serves as a lead up to the crossover series, even though the crossover series has already begun. Ah mega-events! You gotta love ‘em!
In which the topic of ‘going all the way’ comes up

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for since the series began! The burning question on the lips of every fanboy out there, “Does Spider-Man Love Mary Jane?” And more importantly, do they love each other enough that the issue brings up the topic of doing it for the first time? And even more importantly, do they do it? If the cover featuring a shot of Q’Sada Soda is any indication, fun times await inside.

At the Diamond Comic Distributors’ retail summit, Marvel announced the next major event will be titled Dark Reign. The series announced by Brian Bendis will follow the after effects of Secret Invasion that will feature a complete change to the Avengers titles. Bendis will leave Mighty Avengers with issue #20 and launch the new Dark Avengers. No team replacement for Mighty Avengers has been announced.
Marvel also announced Ultimate Avengers by Mark Millar for release in early 2009, Amazing Spider-Man #600 that will ask the question, “What really happened at Spider-Man’s wedding?”, and Marvel Noir, a new black and white line that will feature the X-Men, followed by Spider-Man and other Marvel characters.
